Some African goods are amazing whereas others are not. But over quite a lot of time African goods, such as technology, may be better than goods that come from the America, Europe or China. Some people might call it a fantasy others would call it the future

@ Lambilia, our government knows, but they are traitors, they kept bending infront of them, Its the AU elected president, An African woman, bold mother, who had even asked the men to step aside, who had voice it out loud and clear, instead even Koffee, was the puppet of UN, and had never been able to voice out of African advantages. when as a people you feel low due to lowself esteem, there's not much you can do, isn'it?

@David Miles undemocratic countries such as Ethiopia are transitioning towards democracy, some have already arrived. There are pockets where corruption has been largely dealt with and over time those pockets will grow. The African Union has taken steps to crack down on corruption in its member states, which is all of Africa. So while a lot of work needs to be done to bring the dark days of the last few decades in Africa to a close it's clear that progress is being made in many parts.

You have to ban foreign imports. There is a lot of dumping that is killing African industries. Dangote, Africa's richest man got so rich in part because Nigeria banned importation of cheaper cement. Most of the wealth Dangote has accumulated would have gone to China without cement ban. Now because of his wealth, Dangote has diversified heavily into other areas, such as agriculture, oil refinery, telecom, port operations, etc.

The world is afraid of Africa, simply because her resources are not limited, and because of this, Africa could, and will become the very next super power. The world knows this, and this is why they all scramble to keep their hand on her. But, it's only a matter of time before Africa's power becomes unstoppable. As with those of her decent around the world. It's past due for Africa to rule with great success. She once ruled, and will rule again.

Traceability is also a serious challenge to know the true origin of the goods coming through close borders. Yes EU countries trade up to 65% within the block however it is easy to trace the origin of the goods and there is also a quota to protect local industries for certain products particularly food dumped on their markets .
@showman7632

Traceability of goods will increase as trade increase. Europe also went through the process. The opportunity here is Africa only need to adopt systems in place to improve visibility in its new trade network.

Isn't this a matter of education? Do Africans understand the relationship between trading within the continent and how it benefits their economic status? You reshape mindsets with education. This type of economics can easily be taught in school. Why would anybody have to LET Africa trade with Africa unless Africa has no control over its trade. The governments within the continent should have already figured this out. So what's the REAL stop?
@Deontjie
@Deontjie 6 жыл бұрын
The lack of infrastructure is not the biggest barrier to intra Africa trade. The corrupt officials at the borders are. And the corrupt government's refusal to tackle this problem. It takes transport truckers more than 5 days to cross the Congo border.

If African countries do not trade in Africa , true it will decline to fall. If Africa do not take over it natural resources it will fall deeper. If Africa don’t take its natural resources , process them into finished goods it will remain poor, and fall deeper. Yes Africa can develop into a formidable power and its people sovereign.

Why is something that is so logical seemingly the very highly intelligent thing to do so difficult to architect why hasn't this been going on all over Africa from the top to the bottom already. I am so mystified at the current trends on the continent of mother Africa of the things that her leaders have allowed to go on and go unchecked pertaining to its natural wealth and its human wealth. After all of these decades and hundreds of years why wouldn't this already be everyday common happenings on the continent I just really need someone to answer that question.

Its about time for African nations to trade with each other cooperatively for mutual advantage and mutual growth (esp with the spread of democracy and international law enforcement)! So much natural wealth and potential over there in the African continent. Exploited for mutual gain by Africans themselves, then Europeans and Americans and Indians etc (not just communist-Chinese) will be trying hard to immigrate to there to live and raise their families. The rise of the Sub-Saharan African continent is at hand over the coming decades and centuries (as the United States of America gradually but increasingly becomes a lawless, impoverished Latin American country without a clearly defined southern border or illegal-immigration enforcement per liberal-socialists/progressive political influence and growth with the extremely rapid Latino-population growth).

The world bank and IMF as instruments of economic colonialism of western powers has historically discouraged trade between former colonies not just in Africa but all over the world. They were established to keep the former colonies as economically weak so that the colonial powers could continue to pillage their resources while keeping their economy in dire conditions that they are totally dependent on whatever the west decide pay for their raw materials. Then they serve as dumping ground for their worn and aged equipment. Which is sold to them at very high price. Followed by the lack if spare parts and maintenance skills. Now that Africans
