“There are people around this world who want to heal the trauma of those who fear that they can’t go on any further - and it is up to us to push that work forward. It is up to us to find ways to disseminate those resources and stop leaving them at the top, in the most elite research institutions…” This Sunday, we are excited to share a liberatory psychedelic sermon by Jamilah George, M.Div. In Let Justice Roll Down: Relinquishing Psychedelic Healing for People of Color, recorded at MAPS’ Psychedelics & Cultural Trauma workshop in Louisville, KY, in August 2019, Jamilah shares songs, stories, and reflections about freedom and justice, healing of intergenerational trauma, and accessibility to psychedelic care. Listen to her words and let them lift you!
Rev. Jamilah R. George, a native of Detroit, MI, obtained her Bachelor's from the University of Michigan, completed her Master's training at Yale University, and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Connecticut. Her research interests include obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, the psychological effects of discrimination and racial trauma on people of color, the neurological underpinnings of these disorders, and the potential promise of psychedelic medicine as a means to healing. Jamilah's passion for social justice and equality issues fuels her work as she advocates for the mental and holistic wellbeing of socially disenfranchised groups, including women, people of color, impoverished domestic and international communities, and the intersections therein. She will be delivering the message for Sunday's ecumenical service.

Amazing! Not what I wanted, but what I needed to hear. Disseminate psychedelic therapy for all.

Psychedelics afford you an alternative perspective on reality; so i fail to comprehend the negative dismissive comments regarding another humans unique perspective being expressed. Widening ones experience through that of others can only create a greater vision of what is. You are merely being willfully ignorant.

As free people, we own ourselves. We should not allow the government to restrict our right to access substances (including psychedelics), and to do what we want with own bodies. Free people and the products of our labor do not belong to the state. Self-determination and private property are basic human righs.

@@tharsisharmonia9316 the right to private property is the right to self- ownership. Without it, anyone can invade your privacy, steal everything you've got, and enslave you. 😐

@@AgoristsRising well once you start implanting technology (biological or synthetic) into the body you will no longer own yourself. The definition of POC is a scientific term, poc has no legal definition besides the scientific, chanting that you are something other than human reduces your rights.

Don't try to speak common sense to these kind of people. It won't matter.

Starts off strongly with a method of control, forcing the crowd to do pretend they're in the lion king rather than working on mental health

Racial politics has no place on this channel.... Honestly I thought if someone took psychs they would just 'let it go'. i guess not. I had an ex girlfriend like this who always had to bring up racism and it was so weird. She was looking for a dragon to slay and only ended up losing friends. The antidote to racism is to transcend it.
