Panel Overview of Psychedelic Medicines: Iboga, Ketamine, Psilocybin, Ayahuasca, and MDMA

-Mellody Hayes, M.D., is a physician-writer and public speaker who trained in Sociology at Harvard College before training as a physician and anesthesiologist at UCSF. Known for her heart-centered, powerful public speaking, her writing, speaking, coaching, and work in palliative care serves to encourage us to develop a better relationship to human suffering, be it anxiety, depression, pain, or end of life crisis. She believes that each person has a story of possibility, even in the presence of great pain, to be discovered that is part of their personal medicine.
-Marcela Ot’alora, M.F.A, M.A., L.P.C., is dedicated to the treatment and research of trauma, through art and through the use of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. She worked as a co-therapist in the first government-approved MDMA-assisted psychotherapy study in Madrid, Spain and is the Principal Investigator of the Phase 2 and 3 MDMA-assisted psychotherapy trials in Boulder, Colorado. She received her MA in Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University and MFA from the University of Greensboro in North Carolina. She was born and raised in Colombia, South America and now lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband Bruce Poulter. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. She will be leading the MDMA therapy training.
-Dr. Tafur has been an Integrative Medicine activist throughout his medical career, while in medical school at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, and during his Family Medicine Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After residency, Dr. Tafur completed a two-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the UCSD Department of Psychiatry. In 2011, he helped to found Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual, a traditional healing center in the Peruvian Upper Amazon. At Nihue Rao, Dr. Tafur underwent traditional apprenticeship in Traditional Amazonian Plant Medicine and Shipibo curanderismo. In March of 2017, he published his book The Fellowship of the River: A Medical Doctor’s Exploration into Traditional Amazonian Plant Medicine about his unique journey into spiritual healing work.
-Monnica T. Williams, Ph.D., ABPP, is a board-certified clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Her work focuses on ethnic minority mental health and psychopathology research. She completed her undergraduate studies at MIT and UCLA and received her doctoral degree from the University of Virginia. She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania for four years, followed by five years at the University of Louisville, where she served as Director of the Center for Mental Health Disparities. Dr. Williams has published over 100 scientific articles, primarily on OCD, trauma, and cultural issues.

SWIM used ayu and it was much better to not have the spiritual aspect which causes paranoia in evil forces etc. Psychology better explains it as the subconscious and unconscious acting out archetypes. No more religion and no more blind atheism. Agnostic shamanism! Also the pricing for ket and esket are ridiculous... They're cheap drugs and therapists should charge for real talk therapy while under the influence... Psycholitic therapy and not spiritual or a constant daily drug...
