Hey granny , never pay as you go when it comes to handyman. I’m a handyman and I don’t except any form of payment until my customer is happy with the job. I buy the materials myself unless they are really expensive. I talk through EVERYTHING with the customer before during and after the job.

I am an older single woman and I can tell you that people try to take advantage of me all the time. I have hired handymen who had good reviews on Nextdoor and turned out to be nothing that they said they were. I think a couple were either alcoholics or on drugs. That's pretty scary when you're alone. So no matter how careful you are these things do happen. So don't beat yourself up over it. And yes God sees and He said that Judgment is His. I take a lot of comfort in that. 🙏 for healing

It's very true !! I'm single. Never been married. They're awful when it's just you. I automatically don't trust anything they say and I question everything!! Thank God for my handyman because he's honest and if he can't fix it he tells me what to ask and how much to pay. I came from a family of construction workers so I'm super firm when it's time for stuff like this. It makes me angry though!

Earlier this year I was charged 350 for a gutter/downspout cleaning because I was desperate, and my usual company couldn't get to me immediately. I was desperate b/c the gutters/downspouts were allowing water to get in the basement. I always learn my lesson to not be desperate. But I keep learning it over and over again! This happened to my mom several times. She would pay half and tell them they will get the rest when done. They never come back. I found someone to do a side yard mow this spring...he said he would not take payment until he is done etc. He never showed up.

I don't know if you grow Rose's but research the benefits of rose water . You can make your own organic rose water. It works for neurological pain. Once it's in your system good IT WORKS! If you have to buy from a store be careful because they are not all meant for consumption. ❤

I’m a new widow and it is hard to find a Plummer or handyman or electrician that is honest or don’t charge a arm & leg. My mother in her 80s has same issue. She lives in another state. The same year my husband passed I got injured at work I now can’t do a lot of repairs . Some I have to do, but what use to take me a day takes me weeks to get through it! Very frustrating! It’s hard to grief when you are in survival mode! Put in garden by myself… I can’t believe how long it took me. So disappointed in my tomatoes 🍅. I’ve never has issue before.not sure I’ll have a garden next year. 🥺😢 But Granny I love you videos. Be safe

Granny Karma, I live in Florida in a nice knot expensive neighborhood. We have retirees as well as families. Hiring anyone you kinda go by word of mouth. A neighbor needed a contractor to remodel her bathroom. Everything he quoted ended up her going in and buying each piece. Toilet, sink, cabinet etc. His work was not as good as when he worked on another house 6mths earlier. Finally everyone told her to just let him go. The neighbors would help get another contractor. Well the weekend came and gone. No sign of him or our sweet nieghbor. After week a wellness check was called in. Unfinished bathroom, but still her car in garage and purse missing, phone dead on counter. LE could find the 35 yr old contractor. Checked his home and per wife he choose METH over Family 2mths before working for our neighbor. Police found use of her Credit cards in Georiga. After arresting him in GA he told LE date and dumpster he put our sweet neighbor in. I am so sorry all this happens to you, UT it could have been worse!! Stay safe. Oh yes the Contractor has Life in prison! Could have gotten Death Penalty in Florida.!!

Dear Granny, if you have never tried comfrey salve, please do. I applied it 3 times a day and within a few days, I went from being unable to bend, walk, or pick up a gallon of milk without pain to NO PAIN. I believe comfrey is a miracle straight from God. Bless you.

I got hacked buying a couple sweatshirts from a youtuber. Not his fault but the company was hacked through the dark web. Wiped me out and then some buying PlayStations. Took weeks to get thousands back. We got walking sticks at a Renaissance fair. Cash. Very nice. Something like that you may be safer with Etsy or fairs if a vendor sells them. Saw nice cutting boards homemade at a small town fair nearby. They'll do custom with your own photos. Her shop is close to me also.

That is a shame that he did not correct the problem. I saw on our news that some man took $40,000 for a job never did it and he did this to many people. He have to check on people or may ask friends to get someone. I know its hard, I had six kids to raise and luckily my one son could work on my car and faucets and things. A lot of us (women AND men), have been in that same position. LOL Some will admit it, and some won't. Granny, I’m sorry this happened to you but I wanted to ask you if you have a PayPal account. I’ve had one for years and it’s the only I will purchase anything online. I have had problems in the past with a few things I’ve ordered and they will always make it right. I’ve had my money refunded every time. They will then deal with the person who scammed you. I go thru PayPal with my Amazon orders. Absolutely everything. If anyone wants my credit card information I will not buy from them.

Where I live, there aren't any trustable handymen. So have to call a franchise who charges 195 an hour. So 100 a day is really good, as long as they do what you want them to do.
