Believe it or not when you sit down and actually watch this movie you can see a very heart-warming type of bond develop between these two kids. I think it's pretty amazing the way she protected him the whole time they were neighbors. Very Uplifting. This film deserves an Oscar.

I too give it a 10. Remarkable, touching, and heart-warming. Certainly a modern day version of Romeo & Juliet. The two kids playing in it have a true chemistry; lovely teens that really sell the movie. Positively go see it. The trailer is misleading in the sense it's not a spooky, gross slasher movie but a young-love movie that teens can watch without having nightmares.

I was very sceptical of this remake at first, but after seeing it, I was proven wrong. This film was directed with an exceptional amount of respect toward the original and all additions (they were few) were meaningful and added to the picture. A lot of applause goes to the kids playing the roles (in both films), they did a truly incredible job. This film is everything a remake could ever hope to be.

i watched both too. the original one first. i like the remake better. cast were great, performances were great and the atmosphere was much darker. some kill scenes were better in the original one but that was about it. the bullies were much better. it feels to me that people bash the remake only out of stereotype that all remakes are shit.

I read the book and watched Let the Right One In and loved both almost instantly. The book was moving and amazing and the original movie was a little slow paced but visually beautiful. Let Me In is one of my all time favorite horror movies ever! It takes a little bit more of a grim route than the original movie and little more gory route too, but it worked with the book better (I think). Also it puts its own twist on the whole story by changing the relationship with Eli/Abby and Håkan.

One of the best movie i ever seen. Hauntingly beautiful..One the face of it, its a cute story about a forever-12yo-vampire girl befriended a coward boy. But if you really think about it, Abby is actually using Owen, as a guardian and do all the bidding. He's gonna end up exactly like the 'father'. Very excellent film and easily the best vampire movie. Chloe is amazing, really love her in both KA, Carrie and Hugo.

In the book at least it's made clear that they're actually in love with each other and that she's not using him. The author made a short story that was a sequel to the book and it was heavily implied that Owen/Oskar was turned into a vampire and him and Abby/Eli are in a happy relationship

I think this is the best of both. I watched both and the Swedish one its not better than this one. On the American version you can feel the chemistry between both kids. She falls for the boy and a replacement was due, so it worked perfectly. Love Chloe... Such a young woman and she is soooo mature.

While the original had much stronger shot composition and cinematography, I thought that this one had more convincing characters/was better acted, was better scored, and had stronger pacing. I'm a fan of both. And i'm a professional artist for over 3 decades. My ability to see the similarities is in detail, i can also see the differences which is bound to happen cause you obviously can't make it exact. The 1st movie has the classic Swedish subtlety rarely seen in American made movies. The US director obviously observed this , and he did a good job in emulating it.
