This is actually a wonderful story of how a being that has never known romantic love falls in love. Alan Watts describes what your wife wants to hear will sound something like "I love you so much I can't help loving you" instead of just "I love you" He also says "I love you so much I might just eat you up." But he doesn't actually want to eat her because the girl won't be there anymore. lol. I see this in Ellias right now.

I know he's a Wendigo from what the show informs us of. But the shapeshifting thing seems more in line with Skinwalkers. Wendigos and Skinwalkers can be similar when described in terms of appearance, but what they do is different. Skinwalkers can transform into what they please, albiet in an incomplete and distorted way. Something always seems off about them when you find them transformed as an animal or person. Some people who've seen them in a canine form mention how Skinwalkers tend to have long hairless tails. They can also speak, again it just sounds distorted and off, but typically it's sometimes still enough to fool prey with. They like to use the voices or those close to their victims, often using cries for help and screams with that voice for better results. Finally Skinwalkers are described as witches who can do this stuff. So there's that for you. Wendigos are those who resorted to cannibalism, whatever the reason may be, and became the creature as a result. Wendigos sometimes have the ability to mimic voices like Skinwalkers do, but sometimes they don't. Depends on the story being told mostly. I do know they're described physically to have the head of a wolf, antlers and legs or a deer, etc etc. Nothing like the Until Dawn wendigos though, those things are a far cry from a true wendigo. Elias looks more like a Wendigo then they do, and he is one.
