I bought (to resell, I don't personally like them!) a set of tea cup and tea pot shelf sitters. I would have passed them up as junk, except Jocelyn had scored big with the laundry shelf sitters, so I looked up the tea set ones when I saw them at Value Village.

That antique mall was just dizzying in its chock-a-block fullness of vintage goodness. Love the Enid Collins Siamese cat purse and the mulberry birds, also that cream and green Murano vase you picked up. So many gorgeous things! 😁👍🌼🐈🌻

The women make the molasses to decorate the front and back of over blouses- faded means it was worn for some time. Women had to depend on missionaries for cotton and cotton is not always colorfast. Old ones had only a few layers of cloth, due to supply.

In my childhood, they were sold as "joke" novelties … some joke. 10:43 What price have they got on that Drunkard's Path next to it? I like it just as much. 16:51 It's inarguably a Collins, but I'm hard put to recollect another Collins bag with that much natural wood showing through. (1962 - I would have been five then.) Now the Money Tree is much more like what I think of when you say "Collins bag" to me, though with those handles, it seems a bit more like a picnic hamper. Best I can tell with a quick search, it should be about 1965. The "Broadway" design is a 1970 copyright; the label's dating is slightly off.
