Everytime I see my "KZbin sons," my heart is so happy! Ahhh the memories! I remember Karikoo being in that same house when Nanook was a baby without a name! My mouth fell open when I learned there was no hurry to name Nanook! Here in Germany, the authorities come looking for you if it's not done after a week as if the house is on fire!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 You guys are so big now! In a couple of years, it will be Nanook's first day of school!

Blueberry picking in Wisconsin is different, you have to keep an eye out for black bear
@jerekorva4 жыл бұрын
There are no black bears in finland but brown bears, plenty, enough, not too much, not a dangerous thing. but we call them just bears (karhu, or ruskea (=brown) karhu) and the word karhu is originally just a nickname for the bear as the ancient finns considered them to be divine or at least slightly otherworldly. The word karhu comes from the finnish word karhea which means roughly rough or as in this instance rough haired. Otso, ohto and the derivatives are considered to be the "original" words for the bear. Also the blueberries in this video were billberries. We call the north american blue berries 'pensasmustikka' or 'bush bill/blue berry'. As the billberry is sort of a blueberry so in the similar sense the finnish mustikka is sort of a blueberry even though in english they are called differently... and in swedish the billberries are blueberries (blåbär). Sorry for my bad spanish.

There are plenty of bears, but they watch out for us instead of us watching out for them. In Kainuu area, there might be even too much of them, of course a few are hunted down annually but still

Hello Kirikou and Nanook! It is 12:41a.m. here in the eastern United States, but I think it's the perfect time to go to my back yard and pick some blueberries to make a pie! Your pie looked so yummy! I have to say that Nanook, with his "big boy" haircut, certainly did a wonderful job this time with his pouring and mixing! This has not always been the case, lol. I hope you shared with your mom and dad. Have a 😊 day!

We call that dessert a cobbler, so instead of eating a blueberry pie we would eat blueberry cobbler. My favorite type of cobbler might be peach or strawberry with rhubarb but berries are good too.

My son picked straight into his mouth til he was 7 and if bucket was where he could reach ate all the way home. In the US you have to pay to pick and they weigh the bucket when you are done, am glad they didn't weigh the kid. Blueberry farms have been 1-2 hrs away by car even after moved 1000 miles. We make blueberry, buttermilk pancakes as it seems there are never enough blueberries...Finally in his 20's he started picking to freeze and ate sl less.

Well, it’s fun to visit every now and then, but no. I would not live there. There is literally maybe 5 people living at a walking distance, and 30min by car, if you want to buy food or do anything, and even there, in the ”heart” of Puolanka, there are not that many people or things to do. Romantic and beautiful? Yeah I guess Actually a good place to live? No.

That looks lovely. Blueberries cost a lot here but they taste yummy.Do you people eat the lingonberries? I tried some this week and they are so sharp tasting but they must be used for something as they grow in Finland and get exported.
@MrMehulinko4 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, best way to eat lingonberries is to make a lingonberry jam. It's great when combined with spinach pancakes, liver casserole or blood sausage.
