Dear Nanook: Suppe is the german word for soup. Pumpkin soup would be Kürbissuppe.

Wren, who is 4 too, once kept insisting that we had sparkling apple cider in the house. I kept telling him that we did not have any. He really liked it when we had it on New Year's Eve. I came in the kitchen one day to see him pouring himself a glass of apple cider vinegar. It was one of those hot chili pepper moments where you think, "Uh, no, you don't really want to try that!" But since a sip of apple cider vinegar just tastes bad, I let him figure out on his own that no, I am really not hiding a secret supply of sparkling apple cider in the pantry. 🙂

I'm making pumpkin soup myself this weekend. I make it simpler. After taking the insides out, I just cut in half, place in oven face down for an hr. Scoop out the flesh, boil in chicken stock with onions, then blend, add cream at the end with spices! I shall try it with sweet potatoes too sounds also yummy! Enjoy! Happy Halloween! Stay Safe! 💀👻🎃

Kirikou, l use two pumpkins: one for the soup and the other for the soup "bowl" I also use another type of pumpkin for the soup as well. Your recipe looks great!

Pumpkin or any kind of squash or sweet potato soup I’d delicious. Kiriku reminds me very much of my oldest grandchild except about 4 years younger. Also my grandson’s hair is less blond than it was when he was younger. But he’s also very much into music - he’s a very good violinist & also plays the piano. I love following the adventures of Kiriku & Nanook.
