I'm so glad you posted this. I found your channel a couple of years ago searching for pcos videos. I had been considering buying tone it up for 6 months and when I saw your video I was convinced. It was the best thing I ever did so thank you very much. I have 2 friends with pcos but neither of then are insulin resistant like me and were both diagnosed early. Watching them lose weight was nice but also to be honest heart breaking because I've struggled so much. I hope you feel better soon xx

PCOS has affected so many aspects of my life. Abdominal pain before my period and during my period almost ruins half of the month for me! Not to mention back pain, stupid facial hair, freaking cellulite, swollen tummy ugh... But i know it's a girl's thing i have to deal with. I put a smile on my face and do my best. Just know that you are not alone in this and that I 've always loved and appreciated your honesty Gemma! :)

So glad to see you back on this channel Gemma! Have really missed your more chatty/casual videos :) You are so genuine and I love how honest you are, and although you have been feeling bad lately, it's great that you are doing something about it :) You are going to get fit and healthy and change the way you feel! We all have our shitty days and sometimes I think those days are good as you can really appreciate when you feel great and healthy. Hope you feel much better soon! Take care xx

Hi Gemma, thanks so much for making this video. Not only has it helped inform me about PCOS, a conditions I admittedly know little about, it's nice to know people out there sometimes feel the same way as me. It's a scary day when you see yourself in a shop window and all you can look at is your thighs! Agree with you that it's best to come from the perspective of health as opposed to focusing solely on weight. You're not alone in your quest, I'm taking baby steps right beside you!

I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago and have struggled with it ever since. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis last week and have that "fighting a losing battle" feeling myself now. I'm 29 years old and hate how they influence everything I do in life. I look forward to your series but please don't feel pressured, it has to be the right time for you to do it. I've researched myself and the conflicting evidence makes it a tricky subject! :)

I don't suffer from PCOS but almost a year ago I felt exactly like you did. My blood sugar wasn't regulated I was feeling really bad about my health. I decided that I was going to do something about it and I found Maria Emmerich and her low carb, gluten free food blog. I found that like you once I reintroduce carbs I can't stop. In one of her books she describes it the same way a drug addict needs a fix. I went low carb and never looked back. I feel wonderful and energized. Well wishes :)

I am SO glad you posted this video, you are wonderful Gem, and just saying things how they are, especially when they're not perfect makes you human, admirable, relatable, and in my opinion way more interesting than those types of vids that you were referring to. Try not to be too hard on yourself-life happens sometimes, it's not the end of the world, and this video has really put it in perspective for me as I'm in pretty much exactly the same situation. Much Love :) xxx

Hey, I just want to say thanks for making this video. I just moved from Canada to Glasgow and I too am a member of Tone it Up! I've been struggling recently and have gained a few pounds with all of the new changes around me. I also have a slight disability so I am currently trying not to look into many mirrors (I know that sounds silly, but I'm just disappointed). I'm really going to try hard now to get back to where I felt good about myself, and I really think you will too! xxx

Thank you for your being honest, definitely keep it that way. Your honesty makes you one of the most trustworthy people on KZbin. Don't let anyone pressure you into making videos you're not ready to make, just take your time, I'm sure most people will understand. Have a lovely time in Germany. I know it's hard but try to just relax and have fun then kick ass at the gym when you come back ;) Stay strong xx

I love the videos you make on this channel. we all fall off the bandwagon, and then we get back on it. It's just life and you do the best you can. I've gained weight because of my thyroid problem and just being a bit lazy but I just need to pick myself back up. I agree about these videos being helpful too, it just shows you that its ok not to be perfect. Hi Gemma, just wanted to say that you've inspired me on this channel to try and eat carefully and I find you to be a realistic role model as far as 'dieting' (have to use the inverted commas!) and health, and it's comforting to hear you talk about how you've slipped. We all do. Remember that gaining weight is temporary and that you can always lose it again. And also I would just have to say that you don't look fat or anything on camera. Good luck with it all :) xxx

Gemma, I have been feeling really shit lately too. I have so much to do in school and there's pressure from everywhere. I have also gained weight, and it makes me feel so bad about myself. I miss being happy with the way I looked, because I felt so good. I honestly can't tell that you have gained weight, but even if you have I still think you look great. Gemma, maybe you've already done this but I have PCOS and I'm on myfitnesspal. It has really proved to be such an encouragement to me, as there are a few PCOS forums and through them I've "friended" different girls and we encourage each other. It's nice to have access to people who really get it and who could thrown some things that have worked for them your way. I really get it, my weight is all over the place and so is my health...but I know we'll get through it! xo

It's not that I don't want to make it, it's that it isn't easy to sit and talk about how you have bad facial hair or you have heavy periods that make it hard to leave the house some days. It's not easy to talk about that stuff but I know when I was diagnosed it would have helped me, and I want to do it. It's easy to say 'that's how to be healthy and happy' when you aren't suffering from something you can't change!

You're so beautiful, and not just the way you look. You need to find love for yourself for feeling as though you could do better because it's the best encouragement you can get, it's impossible to rely on other people to tell you when you've gained weight because as much as you may think people are just trying not to hurt you by saying you haven't gained weight, the truth is that they probably haven't even noticed because their perception of you is so misted by love, and that's not their fault x

I know what you mean, but to be honest it's not about my weight as much as my health. I don't like being overweight and at risk of diabetes. Of course I want to be in shape and feel comfortable in my own skin but the pcos invades every part of my life right now. I've eaten out a lot and even making "better" choices in restaurants still causes me to gain weight because of my insulin resistance, it's like fighting a losing battle at times, it really gets me down and talking about it helps me.

Pcos is such a bitch. Unless you are dealing w/ it, you don't know how hard it can be to deal w/ it. I've lost 111 pounds & my symptoms have improved tremendously. But sometimes they come back & wreak havoc on my body. Hang in there.

something I've struggled with for almost ten years and might mean I have no chance at having a child one day. You might not think there's any need to discuss something on a website but you might scan the comments and see that this video and others I have done regarding PCOS have helped people, there is very little discussion about it out there, and personally I think it's important. It might not be easy, but it's important, and you'd probably feel the same if you had the symptoms.

PCOS is an illness, it's nothing to do with "eating too much or something" - it's to do with me eating the same thing as someone else and having my body react and process it in a different way. I don't sit eating all day, I am insulin resistant. I have no periods for three months, migraines, acne, facial hair, bloating and sickness. Please read my previous comment, it's nothing to do with a bit of cellulite its a health problem I've struggled with for years. My makeup channel is for 'lippy or something' - THIS is a health channel therefore I am discussing my health, does that make sense? I am enjoying my life, I live it to the full, but I want to do it healthily. After ten years of specialists that aren't willing to help unless I'm obese, I am doing it myself and documenting it here.

Oh the irony! You're telling someone who's going through health problems not to spend time talking about it and how to be happy and enjoy life, when you actually spent time criticizing in such a negative way.
