Hand of dog, much like the frog crown, are actually items with potentially game saving secret effects, they can pacify creatures, its often an item that gets wishfulled by people, however the secret effects make them really valuable later on.

Not played this game before but I assume the huge block you can get with this artefact means slow combats meaning it works well with poison and is weak to poison, so the fact he turned down so many good poison items early on because of this four item limit just killed me xD

It's too bad you're afraid of hard mode... It's tough, there's a wider range of enemies and it forces more thoughtful consideration of your choices... but it's by no means impossible. That being said, given you tend towards greed and high-risk gambling, I suppose it's not too surprising you avoid that difficulty... Nice to see it featured again though. I've had a lot of fun with the game (I mostly just play the daily challenges now though)

I’ve gotten a hard mode win, a couple I think. It just isn’t as fun to me because it forces you to play extremely optimally and fun in roguelikes for me comes from making stupid builds work. It’s way harder to make a stupid build work in ring of pain as a whole, let alone on hard

@@OlexaYT Yeah, pretty sure I've seen you do it. By no means meant to suggest you weren't capable of it. I just think hard mode is where the game truly shines... having the full cast of enemies and whatnot. And yes, it's harder to get a specific build going, but imo that makes if all the more satisfying when it happens. I understand the choice of a more forgiving mode for streaming though... you'd have a lot more restarts playing hard (but that wouldn't bother me in the slightest to get to see you conquer it in the long run) Either way, it's great to see you playing Ring of Pain again! Thanks for the content!
