You know, I've never said this before in one of your videos for some reason, but thank you for all of this hard work. Not just on these Ultima 9 videos, but all of your Ultima videos, and also the original anti-walkthroughs as well from your site (all of them, too, not just the Ultima ones). I've followed your content as a lurker for quite a while, but I wanted to finally show proper appreciation. I love your wit in both text and voice, and an anti-walkthrough was always such a novel idea. It really resonates with me, and I think it inspired how I often screw around with games both personally and on my own videos these days. :3 And the fact you're also a fellow furry just adds a bit more on top of it all. It's wonderful to see such creativity and humor from someone in the fandom. I only wish your content got a bit more attention; you do such a good job here and really deserve it. Would you mind if I shouted you out, and maybe even made a video about your anti-walkthrough concept if I found the time? I think a good portion of my audience would enjoy knowing about you. (And you are certainly far more witty than I am, sir!)

Thanks, that's much appreciated. Feel free to make a video about the anti-walkthroughs! As you say, it takes a lot of time and effort to pull these things together and it is nice to know that people are finding it worthwhile.

@@tapewolf Thank you man! I definitely imagine the work is quite a compounded effort. Not only for the videos, which you pace and wit upon quite well with your voice. But even writing those original anti-walkthroughs must have taken you a while, since it's all out-of-the-box thinking and then pulling those thoughts into practice, then into a constructed flow and progression. I'm quite impressed by it all, really; you were quite clever with the whole process. I'll be glad to spread the word about your content!

Do you even know how fondly your anti-walkthroughs are remembered? Everyone wants more. “Sunglasses at Night” is a masterpiece, in particular.

Of course at this stage I’ve given up on any more content on IT-HE. I still check once a week - just in case. I’m expecting a 404 not found one sad day.

I have unfinished notes on Dishonored and WolfTNC but the latter just made me Nope so hard I stopped playing. Main problem is I haven't found any games recently that are entertaining AND broken enough to write about.

I know virtually nothing about the Ultima games, but this sort of Travelogue of the game, at a nice and leisurely pace, is very refreshing! It's crazy seeing just how many ways this game can be busted open at the seams, and the loaf of bread bridge reminds me of climbing with paintbrushes in Oblivion. Great series!

I feel this guy’s voice should be doing a nature documentary about Britannian wildlife.

the little clips of Ultima VI warm my heart. i'd suggest including a direct link to the original anti-walkthrough in the descriptions of these videos. people finding the video might have no idea this is based on something you did years ago.

As someone else said, just that little big of U6 footage made my heart soar. Although I am also quite enjoying all the U9 sound cues. Even though it's a flawed game I still spent considerable time running around in that world and it's nice seeing it again. Feels like home somehow. And it doesn't hurt that you are very very funny. Good stuff.

Thanks! Ultima 6 was my first, so it has a very special place in my heart.

@@tapewolf It was my first too, not just Ultima but RPG in general. It opened up a whole new world for me, literally in sense. Nothing will ever be able to beat that feeling of stepping into what, at the time, felt like a real world far away. Good times!

why did I like this game so much when it came out? I think I was just desperate for an open world rpg and this game was so ahead of it's time it actually came out before it was done

How did you get David Attenborough to narrate your videos?
@tapewolf Жыл бұрын
Actually, "Secrets of Morrowind" was the one where I was actively trying to do Sir David Attenborough. The others are just my usual narrating voice.

You have many videos. Have you thought about organizing them into playlists? Since an YT engine update many years ago, one only finds older videos by scrolling down infinitely, each time starting from the top. Then you also can put the best or current ones out on your front page.

Yes, but I haven't made one for gaming so far. I probably should.

2 out of 3 ain't bad we already knew INOPIA from ultima 5, the game is broken by default by making the Avatar re-learn it as if he's never heard of it before
@tapewolf2 жыл бұрын
Could have been worse - you at least get a prompt to type things like the mantras in. If they'd used dialogue options it would have absolutely forced you to re-learn them. FWIW I would probably have forgotten it was from U5 at all if I hadn't done the Lazarus video recently.
