Love the way Dave approaches these videos. Without his explanations these complex ideas will be unreachable for people like me. Thanks Dave for all your tutorials.

Polysynth with modulators is more feature rich than I expected, and probably better than most synth plugins.

Cool stuff! Great demonstration of how to build a sound! I like how you use the shape, base pitch and blend to start out with a broad sound already. I wish it would be easier to make polyphonic FX though (e.g. keytrack modulating the distortion in the FX slot per voice). Doing it with an instrument layer feels less elegant than it could be.

Brilliant. Newb to synthesis, sound design. Your approach is refreshing. I learned much... even tho I'm on my phone. :) Thanks!

Try Access Virus C first, then compare.

@@PlayGameToday not sure why should I. I'm perfectly happy with Bitwig Studio. It can do lots of things, does not occupy physical space and I've payed for it ~3 times less than what somebody is asking for Virus C on reverb.

@@keptmarvelous But you know that no VSTi can ever match the sound of a hardware analog synth, right?
@keptmarvelous2 жыл бұрын
@@PlayGameToday of course, but not everybody wants the sound of a hardware analog synth. BTW isn't Virus a purely digital synth, is it?
@PlayGameToday2 жыл бұрын
@@keptmarvelous Virus C - is "Advanced Simulated Analog Synthisizer" as described on the body of the synthesizer. Depending on what model you are talking about, of course. They are all different.

Thanks for the demonstration. I wish you guys weren't so stuck on shiny little bells and whistles that you neglect the foundational elements that make a DAW a strong production tool. 1. Automation - Bitwig's automation is clunky and featureless. See StudioOne for a proper automation workflow and UX. 2. Navigation - Navigating in Bitwig is a drag. The zoom feature is broken and needs development. Why isn't there an easy and smooth way to increase track height, zoom to a location, make the change, then zoom back out to original position that is framed properly. See StudioOne for a great navigation experience. 3. Interface - The overall interface is just clunky and 'pokey'. The interaction feels slow and sluggish. Clicking clips, navigating and general tasks create friction. This honestly has a lot to do with Java and its poor performance. See any OTHER DAW for proper feel and interface performance. Those are 3 main areas that I wish could be improved. I think it would make Bitwig the all-in-one solution for any production need. As of now I still need to bounce out stems and go into StudioOne for my vocal production and to finalize and polish a song. Bitwig just doesn't have the feature set that makes getting a song to the finish line a frictionless experience.

How can automation be “featureless” when you can automate practically everything in so many ways? Please tell in more detail what you can’t do, and we can help you. (That goes for the rest of your list too.) 🙂👍

@@VarionJimmy Hi Jimmy! I did my best to explain some details in the comment but I can definitely expand further. Do you have an email where I can get in touch? I can be much more detailed if there is a way to explain with photo or video references.

100% I'll just wait for a couple more updates and if non of these get's fixed, I'll sadly move on, as amongst all the DAWs Bitwig is the only one that makes me stop, get frustrated, while trying to work quickly, some times I need 2-3 clicks and maybe a couple key commands, just to get back in focus on the area I want or to open and edit a midi/audio clip. Auto-scroll, clicking, zooming automation points and shapes, snapping are not very solid. I love bitwig and I'm still using it since V3, but these things are really important for my work and workflow.

Good video, but tighten up the edit. Bit too much "hmm... maybe... hmmm let's try.... hmmm maybe this?"
@aguenter2 жыл бұрын
It's their style, not an editing issue. You just don't like their style.
