I've been building Magnus and I'm stoked. I've also thrown in a few cards like dragon fodder that are sorceries so they give me bodies and therefore "ramp."

I just recently built him in my own special way. What I really like about him is while his cost reduction is not secure as the experience counters of Mizzix of the Izmagnus, you can build up that value even before Magnus is cast and that value still lingers even when he isn’t in play. My win condition is nanogene conversion from the doctor who set which makes all creatures a target creature until the end of turn except it isn’t legendary. I use this to make everything a copy of Magnus so my cost reduction becomes exponential allowing me to cast a gigantic X damage spell and win.

I'm upgrading Uvilda Dean of Perfection to be a Magnus deck with many if the same cards. Despite being very different commanders they both lean towards the Battlecruiser spells style of deck.

Thank you for sharing! Magnus has been in my mind ever since I bought my wh40k precon and I don't really have a lead to start building its deck since people considered myself as a newcomer in mtg. It really gives me an insight on how should I build Magnus

I built this nearly identical to what you did but I only run counter spells that give me tokens, Access denied is pretty good, spell swindle, etc. I did put an alrund's epiphany in the deck but that is because it makes birds. also Irenicus's Vile Duplication, makes a non legendary copy of your commander to make those x spells hit even harder.

I'm trying to make mine not a win but going with just pure chaos by being just annoying like the changeling and mess with people by foiling their plans do you have any suggestions for any card swaps I have a lot of counterspells that exile

Why not add Reiterate? Cheap cost to buy and the buyback cost kan be negatet with 3 tokens. Add one token and you can Reverberate every spell you cast

For my money Tor Wauki the Younger is a much better commander for dragon's approach. He makes it do 4 and you can run obosh as a companion, with a thrumming stone as well, since everything is odd cmc. I have the deck brewed, just need a few more dragon's approach cards to get it going.
