Loved the video, around the Amonket block I was running a deck in modern that might have been super friends but I always called it Path of the Walker. I loved it, even though I actually only ever played it once. (For those who don't care, here comes a long winded war story from an old timer who survived a single battle with zero casualties.) I was at the card store, having spent the last few hours slapping together said deck and trying to iron out a few imperfections, when I was about ready to pack up and take care of my grocery run. A couple of guys had walked in not too long ago and didn't try to interact with until they saw me packing up. One of them asked if I wanted a game, I responded that I needed to head out. This guy, with such a smarmy smile, bellowed out a nerd's war cry. "Just as well, my deck is pretty unfair. I wouldn't want to beat you mercilessly." Oh, ohh... You know that means it's on. Some small talk ensues, he'd asked what I play so by the time we actually sat down for cards he knows I made a modern five color deck that focuses on a bunch of planeswalker. He went first. Been a number of years so I hardly remember the play-by-play, but he basically spent the first few turns playing mountains and small fry creatures before self assuredly declaring that he's playing Blood Moon to the field. Now I had no idea what that card was at the time, so I asked what it did. "It turns all of your nonbasic lands into basic mountains." And I just thought to myself, 'Is that it?' before just saying "Okay." and just moving on. He might have thought I was in denial about the situation, or just so new that I had no idea what 'danger' I was in. But I just kept playing my Chromatic Lantern, Birds of Paradise, and Oath of Nissa. Eventually, he realized that the only lands in my deck were basic forests, and my planeswalkers really only fell into two categories: 1.) Making creature tokens. Or 2.) Refreshing mana sources. I used all five colors, yes. But the primary color that vastly out populated the others was green. I had Nissa cards coming out my ears, followed by a couple Garruk and then everything else was spamming creature tokens en masse. I'll never forget the look on his face, it was priceless to watch him slowly succumb to the truth that his one 'unfair' trump card was a waste of mana that did less than nothing to me. I had four copies each of three different cards that fixed my mana output. To summarize, I'm looking forward to making a Palcatraz deck, even if it locks me out from using red cards.

Tamiyo Moon Sage and Field Researcher are key parts of the superfriends deck I run. Getting both out with a doubling season is often game over.

How are you supposed to protect your planeswalker.

I think "Pal-catraz" is a better archetype for old Aatraxa. Think Super friends prison. In that you can adopt some of the new corrupted cards for support and a few of the group poison generators for a certain inevitability that's hard to stop with so much new proliferate support. Contagion engine would also be an allstar here. Really good video though. Sound structure, although some card choices might have better options, it's overall a good list and your layout of the skeleton is super helpful to new players wanting a simple rule of thumb when making their own decks.

Great video ! I didn t know super friends was a term, so it's pretty funny and instructif. I, myself, always had a hard time with planeswalkers, it's just very strange to me to cut a creature or a spell to put a "defenseless" glorified kind of enchantment that can be destroyed by attacking it. I m dramatizing of course, I do play some planeswalker, and I do LOVE some of them (garruks and chandra notably) but since most of them (at least the one worth playing) are rare , mythic or just very high in price, I rarely stumbled upon them as a collectioner and so I never got to play them. However, this deck seems very funny to play, and the last extension really put a good light on planeswalkers and counter mechanics with proliferate. It must be hilarious to just have 3-4 planeswalker and start your turn by activating them before saying "NOW I ll play some spells" and just have you soon ex friends looking at you like it wasn't already a lot x,D I wish a ton of fun to the player of this deck

I gave my stepdaughter my Jeskai Superfriends deck, led by Pramikon, Sky Rampart. You just use Pramikon to point anyone with a creature-heavy deck away from you and then go off with all your Planeswalkers.
@joueurdudimanche760 Жыл бұрын
@@commanderbydaenen Ooooooh that must be hilarious x,D Didn t see a lot of Pramikon deck, but it's true it's a very good protection. Add a propaganda or effects like that and you re garantee to be left alone as long as you can protect your commander. And that's indeed perfect for a planeswalker heavy deck. A lot of fun to your stepdaughter, I hope y'all good games

Is mirari's wake such a good card? I've seen several builds using this card, but in my opinion this mana doubling has nowhere to be used, since a sufficient number of ramp cards are supposed to be in the deck. Will this card be "dead" in our hand?

There is a lot of card advantage on this deck, which means we can cast lots of cards per turn.

my ajani tribal deck went from monowhite to selesnya to naya to atraxa. (more ajanis less teferis) my list is 90% similar to yours. may I ask why Djeru and/or carth the lion did not make your cuts? from my experience those two does a lot of work

Honestly? Wanted to focus on some newer cards. They're both great, and if you want to run them, you should. But I wanted to showcase stuff from the current sets.

Unfortunately, Superfriends tends to be a very expensive archetype. You can run a more budget-friendly mana base, maybe a few tutors or other expensive one-off cards, but for the most part, no. Superfriends is pricey.
