ABOUT THIS GAME
Summary:
In From the Depths you can build and take first-person command of battleships, planes, submarines, space ships, hot air balloons and more! The game is currently in alpha and contains a wide range of single player content including:
A creative mode allowing you to push your designs to the limit and ensure the total annihilation of your opponents.
A campaign waged over hundreds of islands against eight unique factions.
A Story Mode where you can (eventually!) play 15 missions as each of the eight factions - a fantastic mixture of strategy, design and wild battles! Defend your fleet against waves of enemy forces in a series of extremely tough challenges that unlock new components.
An expansive multiplayer and co-op element is planned for the coming months!
Key Features:
Design and build your fleet, fortresses and structures however you want. The alpha currently has over 400 unique components blocks, not including 29 different components for making missiles, torpedoes, depth charges and bombs.
The sky's the limit, you can equip your vehicle with - cannons, lasers, mines, bombs, missiles, torpedoes, propellers, rudders, jet engines, wings, hydrofoils, hot air balloons, anchors, fire control computers, blueprint spawners, repair bots, air pumps, automated control blocks and many, many more!
Realistic physics - every block destroyed or added affects the vehicle's functionality, physics and control. Drag, inertia tensors, buoyancy and sealed compartments are all updated based on the design of your vehicle and the damage sustained.
Be part of a fantastic community: (www.fromthedept..., with new releases made on average once a week. Community organised challenges and blueprint sharing make it an extremely friendly place to hang out!
Customisable Components:
The customisable components in From the Depths allow a unique level of engineering customisation:
- Design custom missiles, bombs, depth charges and torpedoes by combining various warheads types, fuse types, IR seekers, laser beam riders, laser designators, thrusters, navigation algorithms, fuel pods, sonar seekers, buoyancy compartments and propellers, to deliver a truly bespoke weapon.
- Design custom cannons by combining four different barrel types and lengths with autoloaders, warhead types, ammo boxes and auxiliary components to create everything from AA cannons to howitzers.
- Design custom AI by combing an AI mainframe with 'AI cards' slotted into motherboard blocks. Add radar detection, laser detection and tracking and local weapon controllers to give partial or full control to AI. Create anything from a fully AI controlled aircraft carrier to a battery powered drone.
- Design custom engines using crank shafts, cylinders, carburetors, super chargers, exhausts and fuel injectors. Electric engines, generators and chargers are also available for backup power supplies and drones.
- Similar systems exist for the creation of anti-vehicle and anti-missile lasers, as well as drills that can cut even the largest of battleships in half.

Your gauge snakes and APSs in general are getting better and better, although these ones can be *slightly* optimized! Also, great build, this kobold canoe/ship hybrid, this might be your most cost efficient build so far by the looks of things, it is very meta and very masterfully built all around so far, so yeah, great job, I really enjoyed the build video!

IMPORTANT @borderwise USE PID! PLS it is 1000 times faster, easier, more efficient, easier on block count, easier on cpu and ram, and is as round wheels are better than square wheels to use than your rage inducing ACB faffery. the following settings work for every PID (pitch/yaw/roll/ect) and vessel no matter it's size/weight/balance/maneuvering/ect. 0.5/max/0.5 it will take about 10 seconds to try for yoruself, add PID's to any vessel you have. I beg you to try it, please please. I will give you money to try it. I will do "favors" for you to try it. I love your FTD vids but they make me motion sick and give me a headache

yeah i generally use ACBs for things that do not need frequent activation, like shields, because i can set the "check" to run every 30s or so.

@danielsandberg9365
@danielsandberg9365 5 жыл бұрын
@@BorderWise12 Those settings are simple to setup but I'm sorry to tell you this but they have their own issues. If you have the integral at max your PID becomes reasonably stable when the craft is undamaged. However due to your high integral your PID won't update to damages being taken, in other words it'll mess up horribly with damage. Just be aware that this is basically just using a PD controller, a sort of middle ground between ACB controls and PID controls! TLDR ; PID 0.5/max/0.5 good but bad

That's some nice engine construction you have there. I'm getting better, but for small ships it can be hard to build them so neatly, so mostly mine are all compacted down with a mess of pipes and turbos and superchargers going every which way. If I want UNLIMITED POWA, I use steam because it's simpler.

Just saying, if you want to do the bobbing thing, you probably don't want to set the accuracy to 0.10 as the gun will never shoot because the gun will practically never be on target. Also, the longer the barrel the more time it'll take to train the guns onto the target, subsequently having to re-aim every time it bobs.
@csfelfoldi
@csfelfoldi 5 жыл бұрын
Plus if you are bobbing this much you can't get away with just front shields, cause timed shells will explode under and above the craft... Learned this the hard way.....

I build a lot of 8m super cannons, try using large hesh, he, he, he, sec heat, he, he, basebl. It is a nasty shell that can gut most things in a single shot
@xmm8299
@xmm8299 5 жыл бұрын
I use very similar shell, although I usually put frag frag frag instead of sec heat he he, just for the general purpose higher damage against things with shields and spaced armour (ie bulwark), but yeah, 500mm hesh with 3 he heads is INSANE and I see sec heat being very effective too!

@@rabidr3aper213 Yes, you can change AI behaviours and PID fake points with ACBs. There's also the AI Breadboard, which is a world of logic that I know barely anything about that can have wonderful results if you know how to use it. :)

Don't make stuff out of light alloy. At the same cost, metal is way better for armour. Don't worry about it's mass, deli blades can lift pretty much about anything because you will almost always have room for them. Keep the thing up with PIDs and make sure you fine tune it to be really, really stable. It will take time, yes, but it adds a huge benefit to your accuracy, especially at 1000m and with noodle barrels.
@BorderWise12
@BorderWise12 5 жыл бұрын
I like to start with Alloy when making flying things, since it saves having to trim weight later. I'm probably going to convert most of the front to metal, though, since you're absolutely right about the armour and the thing's a bit rear-heavy. I'm only going to add PIDs if I really, REALLY need them. Most of the time I find I don't, but we'll see. Cheers! :)
