I absolutely hate moving because of the packing and unpacking. We’ve been in our home for 21 years and will probably stay here because of all that stress. But I’m with you I’d do it myself to save money. Plus it’s your personal stuff and who would want anyone going through their stuff. Honestly we have to much stuff. I have been trying to get rid of a lot. Good Luck with the move. May you have many happy years in your new home.

I’m a bit of a type A control freak. I prefer for the hubby to put the boxes together and lift the heavy stuff, and let me handle most of the packing, like y’all are doing. Doing the work and using the substantial amount you are saving on furniture and such doesn’t mean you can’t spend it. It means you are spending wisely. 😉

I had black dip this time around too, and they looked messy from day one. They chipped around the edges, and never looked as good as they usually do with any other color.
