When my daughter was in culinary school a few years ago, she had all kinds of recipes and notes taped to the inside of the cabinet doors. When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and got new cabinets, I took them all carefully down and saved them in a box somewhere. When I'm gone from this world some day, she will likely find them and have fond memories.

All of the casseroles look so good but I think my favorite is the ham and scalloped potatoes. I love when we have ham so I can make it with the leftovers. I have my 94 year old dad with me who isn’t much of a fan of casseroles but he doesn’t mind that one. I hope you all enjoyed your harvest party! I can only imagine how much Warren is enjoying being able to sleep all night.

I have such fond memories of my Grammy making “Porcupine Balls” when I was a child. I’ve never heard of anyone else call them that! Also- a request from those who pray: my sweet mother has been battling aggressive breast cancer for a while now. She meets with her oncologist this week to find out if her treatment has been successful. She’d not like me asking this, but I would appreciate prayers for clear and healthy results. Thank you ❤ My mom is the strongest woman I know, and my best friend. I need her around for a while longer- she has so much more to give!

Yeah! Cranberry harvest is done, and safely too! I always enjoy the 'realness' of your videos. Hubby is still helping an area farmer harvest, so supper can be anytime from 6 to 8 pm. I had written down the recipe for your pizza burgers and decided to make them. YUMMMM! We both loved them! I didn't have tomato soup so used my home canned pizza sauce instead. Will definitely make them again. Today's recipes looked delish! Thank you for sharing.

It always amazes me how different recipes can be around the country. Chicken spaghetti is very popular in Texas. Every caterer around here makes it and we have it for holidays , parties, celebrations etc. but it’s nothing like that recipe you cooked 😆. Ours is very very cheesey creamy with sliced mushrooms, rotel, and sometimes sliced black olives. Not always baked. Mine is just all cooked mixed together on the stovetop and I can put mine together lickety split with using precooked chicken ❤

I think you just solved a 60-year-old family mystery for me. My mom used to make porcupine meatballs, and they were awful. The rice stayed crunchy, and the bits would stick in your teeth. I'll bet she used regular rice instead of minute rice--I don't think we ever had minute rice in the house! Knowing this, I might actually give these a try.

Jennifer, I didn’t realize until about 6 months ago that the reason I never cared for casseroles was because we never had them growing up. I’m almost 65. My father and his 3 siblings were placed in an orphanage home during the depression. My mom and her 8 brothers and sister were raised on a very large farm. Continued…
@Bex-rg8pj3 ай бұрын
Both of my parents are gone but I figure my dad lived on casseroles to stretch food. I assume that’s why my mom never cooked them.
