One suggestion: For those plants that don't get placed right away, you could dedicate an area where you could plant them in the ground for future use. I have an area I call my nursery area, I put plants there that I haven't placed yet but I don't want them to languish. These are plants that I just have to have but not sure where they are going yet, it works out great.

I've lost plants in the past because i was overwhelmed and didn't care for them adequately. I'm really trying to limit the number of plants i bring home now.

I'm with ya on many many many years of having plants over winter that never got planted🫣 I admire your determination to change that habit! I'll be cheering you on as you whittle that lovely pile down❤

Jenny, I love your cute hat. Here in Minneapolis, I'm afraid it would blow off my noggin. Though that would be a way for me to increase my exercise. I also love hearing you and others mention the channels you watch. Me too! (Janey just shipped me one of her caps.) My plant stash is coming. Over winter, I ordered so many plants online, including corms and bulbs, that I've forgotten from where and what. While listening to you, I am admiring your candytuft and looking out my window to decide how I'll arrange the 3 I ordered for my rocky boulevard garden. I've given up growing lawn at the bottom of my driveway. Longfield Gardens already sent me 25 lily bulbs. I'm waiting for dryer weather so I can plant them. I read rabbits like them. Grr! 🐇 Guess I'll have to wrap the emerging plants in chicken wire. You have so many wonderful plans. I look forward to seeing them come to fruition. I'm trying to hold off ordering annuals online. Hoping to find PW 'Jazzberry' supertunias, nemesia 'Mulberry' and several others. It's gloomy and cold today today, I may just make a Home Depot trip to purchase a stock tank. My neighbors' maple tree roots are so aggressive, planting above ground is my solution. I'll be using my new "Jenny's limited-edition PowerPlanter auger" to muscle through those roots.

I love how you talk back to yourself when editing. So fun. You have a very interesting and beautiful garden, I love your shade garden and terraces and patio gardens. Can't wait to see where you make your new planting area. I only have 2 plants in pots that didn't survive the winter Not too bad.

What a coincidence-I was making a list of every plant in my stash yesterday! Some are perennials that have been there for a year (or two?), then there are the ones I started from seed, and the ‘volunteers’ I’m relocating. I’m just down the road in Annapolis, so if you don’t have room for any of yours, you could always add them to mine! 😅

I went to the store with the plan to just walk through the garden center....but I ended up purchasing way to many plants. My goal is to keep the losses down, my love of plants makes my appetite bigger than reality. Here in Oregon zone 8b

Central upstate NY here. My upstairs bathroom is loaded with two 3 tier shelves of plants ready to go in the veg garden and trays and trays of dahlias flowers. I’ve started planting some evergreen trees around our barn for wind/snow blocks and winter interest. And I’ve started laying down colonial stone pathways. We’ve had a super mild winter and stretches of great weather so it’s been a busy early spring. Love this time of year ❤

Hey Jenny I love your plan and I know your garden is going to be awesome…I planted some hollyhocks in the ground today that was winter sown so I am off to a good start…lots of dahlias potted up and lots of winter jugs opened today…growing lots of zinnias this year…was excited about growing lisianthus but they are still on heat mats and no germination…so exciting to see how your garden is coming along…💚

Although I live in the deep south now, I used to grow Sweet William in Connecticut. They multiply each year, which means if you subdivide them and redistribute, the biannual blooming never really exists! LOL. I hope that makes sense. 😊

I have 24 plants i ordered online that came this week but we've had night temps in high 20s so can't plant them yet. Hauling them in and out. Theyre small pots so not too bad. I think this weekend might be it!! And I feel overwhelmed! Lol!

8a Atlanta, I have a no idea where the majority of the seeds I’ve started will go, most of what I’ve purchased already grown have found forever or temporary homes in the garden. Simply, I give away plants to anyone who will take them, many times someone is doing the same to me.

I plant Vermillionaire Cuphea every year and it is an outstanding hummingbird attractor. There is a good punch of yellow in the blooms so it pairs well with cool colors too. If you can find the Rockin' Blue Suede Shoes Salvia or one with the more tubular blue flowers, I have found that to be equally attractive to hummingbirds for several years now. They also love Four O'Clocks flowers. I grow a variety with hot pink flowers. And of course, fuchsia plants for shady areas.

Beautiful plants. I am going to try some of them this year as well. Hummingbirds in my garden were mainly attracted by Monarda didyma (Raspberry wine) and Blue and Black salvia. Red salvia coccinea was not that popular. I am not sure if it was because of the location or size of the plant (red salvia was not that high).

Remember what the Sweet William seedlings look like. They reseed very nicely. Sometimes biannuals bloom the first year if started early. Our roosters like to eat them😂. When I think of areas to plant it’s always bigger in my mind😂. It’s not just prepping an area, but also do I have a fenced in area as the wildlife destroys everything. Lantanas are pretty. You have so many choices! 🤩. We want ALL the plants and where will they all go? My husband keeps asking me and I say, “In the ground”! 😅 You’re going to need an army to dig all those plants in and a massage therapist.
