My writing used to flow effortlessly in high school and university. Maybe because something new and unpredictable happened every day, which kept my brain agile. Back then, I thought the stress was awful, but it actually helped me escape into my stories, letting me live and breathe them like nothing else. Now, after working from home for a few years, the writer's block has gotten so bad. Turns out, living too comfortably at home and indulging my introverted nature is a real problem. So lately, I've been trying to recreate that school-like social environment by attending astronomy meetings at the local planetarium, which happens to be at my old university. There's something about walking across campus and seeing the places where I used to study that helps me reconnect with the version of myself who was so excited about writing. Plus, my astronomy group often hosts lectures by scientists and retired professors, so it feels like I'm back in class, taking notes and engaging topics with an open, curious mindset. I've even gotten new ideas for my stories from talking to and overhearing conversations from fellow attendees. It made me realize that being a hermit crab at home had dulled my ability to create natural conversations. So, for you, think of a way to reconnect with that past version of yourself who desperately wanted to write her stories. Even if you can't see yourself as that girl anymore, it's still a good idea to carry her best traits with you into your future. Life will definitely try to knock that sparkle out of you if you don't make a concerted effort to hold onto it. And pretty much every older adult I know wishes they could tap into some of that energetic magic they had in their youth. You're still so young, so it won't be hard to find it again and some 👍🏻👍🏻 Good luck with your Reedsy course! I hope you find a way to refill your creative well until you're bursting with stories to tell. :)

Mercury just entered retrograde... No joke. It's gonna get wild for most of August. So glad your package got to you in one piece! I haven't gone on a date in 3 years, so I feel your pain. Dating apps are absolutely a nightmare, but with my life and schedule (and being a single mom)... I don't have many options. If your brain isn't giving you the visuals you used to have, you need to seek some out. Hunt for pictures that remind you of the characters, listen to music that gets you in the story zone, watch a movie that inspires you or gives you the right vibes. I always have my stories running in my brain like a movie, so not having that would be really distressing. Glad you found something that worked! Sidenote: that Lolla performance was WILD! So amazing. And I saw a meme that summed up the Stray Kids phenomenon perfectly. "Ooh, I like this random kpop song. Who is it? ...24 hours of bingeing all their content later: Stray Kids everywhere all around the world! Stray Kids dominATE!" 🥳

I so know what you mean, Sarah. I've been stuck with writer's block for years--no joke! I think it's normal for all creatives but take a small break and try again. Keep trying. I hope your spark comes soon. 🤗💖

Okay, call me old fashioned but I think if a single former guy friend read my book and I was a single female author and he gave me feedback I’d consider it flirting 🤣

I watched this while getting ready today and it was such a vibe! literally just felt like you were catching me up before we were about to go out lmao. I’m not a person who sees things I want to write as a movie because my first drafts are largely just inner monologues and imo pretty solid dialogue so the characters are almost talking heads, but sometimes I get glimpses of like still frames from a movie and then I can figure out description based on those. In general descriptions don’t come naturally to me and I usually have to go back in and add them lol

I had that happen with a replacement credit card that I had sent to me at a hotel. Literally they said the hotel manager signed for it and she wasn’t even there. And I never got the card, just had to cancel it.

I definitely think it makes sense that you were frustrated about not being able to "see." You're a planner! So the concept of pantsing is very uncomfortable for you. I'm glad you sat down with a calendar and figured that all out. Being stuck sucks. Also, when I used to watch you more regularly, it was pre- K-content obsession, and you were definitely more productive 🤣 Hee hee I love your wall though.💕

Girl! Dating stories... I've been single for 4 years. Dipping in and out of online dating because it's just exhausting. I've also recently joined Hinge after being on Bumble previously. Had a date Saturday just gone, crazy golf, out of my comfort zone. Drove an hour to meet the guy. I beat him at crazy golf. He doesn't offer to pay or buy me a drink (I don't expect this but I expect an offer 😅especially if I've driven to meet you 10 mins from your house) and then I didn't hear anything from him for 2 days after. Finally sent him a message to say thanks for meeting up, was nice to meet you, but I don't think we're compatible (he doesn't drive and he's just bought a house with his dad for them both to move into, plus other reasons it'd just be rubbish logistically). He replies saying it's a shame because he thought the opposite. Dude! What! You've shown zero sign you're into me. I only date maybe once or twice a year before giving up 😂 may the odds be ever in your favour!

I also struggle with visualizing scenes. Looking at pictures on Pinterest helped me a lot, especially having reference photos for characters that I could look at to help me visualize. Love your vlogs! 💖💖

Omg. I can so relate to not being able to "see" what you're writing. I have been supposed to be working on a christmas book, and book 3 in my new series since my last release in March. I have only written, like, 2 chapters of the Christmas book. I had to cancel my editor for August because I just couldn't get anything done. I just haven't been able to see/envision my stories. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet 😅 I know I'm not "broken" because I got a random romantasy idea that's I've been envisioning for months, but I write contemporary romance under my pen name 🫠

Girl have you ever though of writing a kpop romance book?love your books but have been reading a ton where a girl meets a kpop idol and they fall in love and i could see you writing a fictional stray kids and picking your favorite boy or even just doing a fan fic to spark your imagination!!! i could totally see the idol coming to the girls house and she forgot she had a wall filled with him and his bandmates face like your wall and puts a blanket over it only to accidently knock it off and be uber embarrassed!!! OMG i like to watch/write my books in my head in the in between moments instead of looking at my phone. Waiting in line, showers, driving, before bed are my most creative times lol lol people always asking me why i am so quiet and i just like you don't understand i am getting to the best part he is finally about to confess!!!!

Oh my god, I hate parallel parking. And I‘m so bad at it that one time a few years back this guy - a complete stranger - offered to do it for me after I tried to do it for like 10 times without succeeding. And yeah, I let him park my car for me and I didn‘t know if I should be thankful or embarrassed afterwards 😂🙈

Now that you're taking the course, do you think it's worth the cost? I'm so on the fence about it.

Do you please by any chance remember how much is the cost? I was thinking about the course but since it already started (the Enrollment is closed for this round) I cannot find the price on the web anywhere...

I was once expecting a package I had to sign for. And a package came. I signed. Saw that the person wasn’t me. But it was my address. Apparently the person who lived in the apartment before me ordered an Apple Watch and had it delivered to their old address. They’re lucky I’m an honest person. I sent it back lol. Crazy.
