Yep. And people have all kinds of excuses - “we need Black male teachers to do xyz with the kids,” or, “what if they wanted to go to hair schools and this is encouraging them…” People will literally say anything to ignore that he brought this on himself lol. You can be a teacher and have fun/be casual with students at times, but still keep it more professional/have appropriate boundaries.

The teacher was absolutely being predatory - 1) He uploaded videos of the girls braiding his hair - without the permission of the parents 2) The young ladies , had his telephone number and when he was fired - one of the girls texted him “ saying what’s up Bestie “ that’s completely inappropriate he’s an adult your teacher not your best friend and Those boundaries need to be reinforced by the teacher . And clearly it wasn’t . Braiding and taking out braids by the opposite sex is and has been a courting ritual in both Native American and black American culture so the act was already suspect . Those girls are at an age that they could have a crush on their teacher and middle school teachers are aware of that and act accordingly grown men and women but particularly grown men that are sensible are aware of this and try their best to not have any kind on contact with young ladies that could be misconstrued. I would investigate the boys in that classroom and ask them how they felt - and what they noticed . I would also talk to the girls a year from now and ask because I am sure he said some inappropriate stuff you can’t ask them now because they are gonna defend their teacher Prayers up for those kids in the classroom 🙏🙏

I also worked with kids when I was younger (21, and still do 13 years later). I would not let them take my braids out but that's only because I worked with teenagers who were victims of trauma and substance abuse, so yes, you have to be careful and establish firm boundaries. School children? Again, I can see the concern, but I can also see why he didn't think it was a big deal. I would never post the youths I work with on social media or add them while they're underage however. I second what you said about being the "cool staff" but yes if you have established a strong rapport, you can have a cool relationship with them and be compassionate and also be firm and authoritative and have their respect. It's tough to balance, but possible. It always shocked me when teens listen to Jay-Z or Slaughterhouse (Budden, Royce) or Lil Wayne, I'm like whaaa lol working with kids keeps you young. Great monologue Calvin. Your insight is also great.

5:29 Yeah I noticed on ANY video I see of an Anita Baker concert, it never fails, you would hear her say something about the sound. As far back as 10+ years, any video of a full concert that was posted, she was gonna say something about the sound. So that let me know, its not all of these venues, its her 🙄. So it makes sense that she probably doesn't do sound check, EVER.

Down on the list: … Anita Baker; back in the day when AB came on the scene we were all into that unique voice. She was amazing. I still have a couple vinyls. But little did we know about her bad attitude. We didn’t have internet. At my age I would never go to one of her concerts. She should be thankful ppl still pay attention to her. Also, Daniel Perry is a member of a certain tribe so something much deeper is going on with that case (really, with all these cases) than we know. Daniel Perry reminds me of Daniel Pantaleo, another member of the tribe...he was the one that killed Eric Garner. Another case you should look into is Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., a retired marine killed when **eight** officers responded when his LifeAid medical alert necklace was inadvertently triggered.
