This was great, trying to get my father in law's old Coleman 220K going and this helped tremendously. Thank you! I think I need a new generator, the one in this lantern won't let the spring out or the white part...it's in there and won't move, which seems bad. I can't get it to light without a lot of effort, and when it has been lit, it just fades...and I just bought new fuel. This really helped me be confident about what to expect as I disassembled and reassembled!

@@stonecutter2 I’m glad it helped brother! Sounds like you need to take the generator apart. Let me check if I have a video on how to do it. All you need is a propane torch, pliers and water. Or you could buy a new one. Thanks for watching brother, I appreciate it!

@@stonecutter2 I can’t find my own video because the process is buried in one of the many videos! 😂 But here is a video explaining how to do it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJLKgpR9fbt6fMksi=tQ8O_zQ6LqP8LcQW

Well it looks really nice. Definitely works better with good fuel in it. Nice job brother. You’re getting to be a master technician on the Coleman lanterns. I was surprised how nice the paint came back. Between you and Ron there won’t be any lanterns left for everyone else. Lol. Guess I’ll have to collect oil lamps. Ha ha ha. 👍👍

🇺🇸🙋♀️🐴👍🍃 Excellent clean up! I'm glad the new fuel worked great, cuz it would have suked if you had to take apart the valve again! I kinda don't mind the long vids, cuz it's like a rest or a break from all the social media news.

The Guru of Coleman Lanterns on KZbin strikes again! I wonder how much the tanks need cleaning and refilling right from the start.
@Dominic.Minischetti Жыл бұрын
Probably a lot! 😂😂😂 I’ve been hesitant to take all the valves down because of the packing. But from now on, they get taken apart if they have any age to them. I just need to get the correct graphite packing. Each one I do, I learn from it! Thanks for watching brother, I appreciate it!

what is your thoughts on rust be gone on the inside of a tank then of course fuel proof paint afterwords
@Dominic.Minischetti Жыл бұрын
I never used it. I have used vinegar and salt and Evapo-Rust with BBs. both worked well. After using either or, rinsed with hot water, blown out with compressed air then filled with denatured alcohol and emptied. And more compressed air!

This is an older video but.. I noticed that you didn't remove the generator cleaner crank/handel. I was working on mine 220k, but i couldn't figure out how to remove it without breaking it. Any tips? Thanks for sharing your video.
@Dominic.MinischettiАй бұрын
It has packing in it. I never remove them unless there is a problem. That being said, before I remove one, I buy new packing because chances are you’re going to need it. Then I put the tip cleaner in my vice with aluminum or brass jaws and after loosing the nut pull it out. You may need some heat from a propane torch. I hope that helps.

@DomMini He said it uses Kerosene. Is that what the K on 220K stands for. Are they as bright as the normal gas lamps. We had Kerosene wick lamps at home for power outages. But my Dad always had a Coleman lantern or two for camping.
@Dominic.Minischetti10 ай бұрын
@aikidragonpiper71 I’m pretty sure it uses white gas. All of mine 220Ks do, and I have quite a few. The K is just a model number.
