Those are the numbers of stages they chose for their presentation of the idea in different works at different times and others have built on their ideas. I'd never seen 9 before looking for it specifically. I think it's too many and any list I've seen is redundant and unprofessional because it's getting so picky about further separating what was supposed to be broad emotional categories to make a point about the process. Breast is just the term for upper chest, for all people/animals. It just happens that most people use it in reference to women’s chests, which is where the confusion comes from! :)
@martletkay
@martletkay 22 күн бұрын
Yeah, literally every one has a breast if they have an upper chest, including chickens and all other birds. That's why it's called breast muscles. It's not not a term really used for most animals, but it's still used for meat and other random instances, like a man wearing a "breastplate", or "breast pocket" on a jacket. Why do you think so many old timey stories have men "beating their breast" in grief, for example. Kind of ironic that the term actually pops up more in men's fashion/gear than any usage outside of the way most people use the word.

Yeah they are not just for your comfort. Bareback riding (with no pad) may be painful or damaging to the horse if he or you don't have much natural padding, he doesn't have a well-muscled back, you don't have strong enough leg muscles to keep some of the weight off your seat bones, you are fairly heavy, you don't have a relaxed seat/good balance, he has bouncy paces, he has high withers or a high spine, you ride bareback for too long etc. Horse comfort always comes before "I'm so hard core, I ride proper bareback" bragging rights!

Just to add on to what you said, in Hunter Jumping, the jumps stay relatively the same height(to help the rider keep a good form), while in Show Jumping, the jumps basically just get higher. Not to mention in Show Jumping that they push the horse past it's limits a lot(any jump above 6ft is pushing your horse too far).

2. The breed of the first one is a miniature horse, not sure about the second but it is some kind of pony. 3. Generally speaking, any white marking on the forehead is called a star, no matter what it looks like. 6. Sound basically means that the horse isn’t lame, they are walking normally and aren’t in pain. 7. The top horse and rider are doing hunter jumpers, otherwise known as hunters. It is a type of riding and is judged on straightness, centeredness, pace, track, when you jump a jump, your position, and your horse’s form, among other things. The bottom picture the horse and rider are doing show jumping, which is judged on speed and whether or not you knock down a rail. You can tell the difference from the photos based on the attire and jumps. Hunter jumps are natural looking and often have some sort of foliage, though not always. The jumps are supposed to be things that you could jump while fox hunting. They wear fitted white saddle pads and no boots on the horse’s legs. Jumpers tend to have colorful jumps and they are allowed to wear boots, long saddle pads, and bonnets, which is the thing covering the horse’s ears in the bottom photo. In both photos they are at shows, the rules for attire are much more relaxed when you are not showing. 8. An appendix is a breed of horse. It is a cross between a thoroughbred and a quarter horse.
@Sunnysodamilobarnaby
@Sunnysodamilobarnaby 25 күн бұрын
I’m pretty sure at 3.45 the bottom one is show jumping and the top one is hunter jumping! By sound they mean good condition so it’s “sound” What they mean by wrong lead the horse is more likely to fall over/trip when it is on the “wrong lead” and when the horse is going the other way it(therefore on the right lead)is less likely to trip/fall! Cob is a breed! I don’t know why it is called a star! One is a foal the other one is fully grown! The horse is “green” because it is not fully educated on how to ride! I am an equestrian this is off the top of my mind at 10 o clock at night so sorry if I don’t make sense!

1. The horse is not trained, it’s called “green.” 2. The first horse is a horse, it’s called a “miniature horse” and the other horse is a pony bc it’s in 14 hand range. 3. It may look like a heart, but any horse with a white patch on its forehead, it’s called a “star.” 4. The Cob is a breed of draft-ish horse. 5. The “lead” to the canter is when the front leg, goes farther out in the canter gait. The correct lead really depends which direction you’re going, but it results in the inside front leg to go out. (It’s really hard to explain). 6. I really have no clue 7. The top picture is called “hunter jumpers” and that’s a discipline where it’s jumping, but the jumps are lower-ish and are nature themed. The second picture is show jumping and is used in the Olympics. That’s literally just jumping and the jumps get pretty tall. (5 foot-6 foot range). 8. The Appendix is a human body part, it’s also a horse breed. It’s a quarter horse-thoroughbred cross. I used to have one

I knew a good amount of these as a nom-equestrian. I did grow up loving animals and wanting to get into riding, but was told for many reasons I would never and gave up trying after a point.... Also, am I the only one who laughed at the "They are sleeping" and went "Chicken Elisabeth Nugget and Squidward"!!!!

Yeah, literally the only one I don't get is the "appendix" one, and I've never owned a horse or even ridden one. I think horses are cool but I mostly know stuff about them because I'm a writer who thinks things should be described correctly. Don't really feel like getting TOO deep in the weeds on horsey stuff though, because it gets to be a lot FAST.

In England some of our 'colour' names are slightly different: we have 'piebald' large irregular black & white patches [not to be confused with a 'magpie' which is a bird], and large irregular brown[any shade]& white patches is called a skewbald! What you called a 'bald-face' we would call a 'blaze' [but don't send for the firebrigade to put it out!] and white-hair in a circle just above the hoof is called a 'coronet' [as our royalty has been in the news a lot recently]. A friend who kept her horses on the edge of our town would get phonecalls from local residents telling her she had a dead horse in her field! Thanks.

A horse 14.2hh and under (>58 inches) is called a pony. The small one is a specific breed, so, while it is pony height, and should be a pony, it is classified as a "horse" because of the breed, American Miniature Horse.
@equine2020
@equine2020 14 күн бұрын
@kht_autumn A pony is 14:2 handa & under, at shows a measuring stick is used. The expression horse not used. Unless it's 14:3 & over. That's a horse. Miniatures fall under a different height. Smaller. Some only 36". This can confuse some. Some added info.

3:45 ISTG SOMEONE WHO FINALLY I FEEL LIKE UNDERSTANDS THAT HUNTERS IS DIFFERENT FROM SJ AS A HUNTER I GET TOLD “Hunters are easy” , “Show jumping is the same but better” I’m not hating on show jumping but I don’t Like the fact ppl say it’s the same it’s so different like how, yes we they both jump, but there are different like rules, ways u have to dress, how the jumps look, etc. not hate to any showjumpers unless u abuse. ❤ Also great vid to the creator also pls don’t respond to my comment with hate like “But ShowJumping is harder” they both are hard in their own ways they r equally hard.
