Oh Luise, you are a junk journal alchemist!!! This is absolutely stunning 😱 I have no idea what you did, but you managed to get the most beautiful effects! When I tried using oxide sprays, they basically disappeared. It must be some reaction between the spray stains, oxide sprays, mica & everything else you added, as well as the photo paper. I hope you redo this experiment with loose pages & that you scan these gorgeous creations

I agree with what you're saying... no telling what the 'final' condition of the pages will be. I can see where they may be extremely fragile and brittle, they you'd have no choice but to re-apply them somehow to a 'new' age. Only time will tell... LOL. Some of those pages are just extraordinary and beautiful. I hope you're taking pictures so you can re-print and do things with the re-printout.

Luise- you are just amazing!!! I do believe you can turn anything into a beautiful work of art! From soggy browns to beautiful Mica shimmers and oxidized amazing colors. Thank you for sharing this. It's so much fun to not only watch you create and experiment..but also to hear your excitement at new discoveries! So far I love how this journal is turning out! Those pages are so beautiful!! To help dry it you could put it in front of a fan. If I used this as a journal, I don't think I would be able to cover up anything on most of the pages they are so gorgeous. tfs

Sooooo amazing. Another thought about completely drying the journal that would keep the pages more intact (but the resource is more difficult) would be to freeze dry the journal. This is a technique used by librarians in extreme cases. You would need to find a kind manager at a freeze drying facility (think frozen veggies). Cheers Meg

Luise you kicked butt with this project, this journal turned out absolutely amazing! I’m absolutely in love with all the vibrant colors and textures that turned out with this project. This was absolutely incredible! How can it be that this is the most beautiful junk journal I have ever seen?!?! Only you, Luise! Absolutely stunning! I told my husband about the washing machine experiment. He is a paper-maker and before I was done with the story, he said, "She pulped it! That's what I do every day...put paper into a great big washing machine!" Too bad he didn't tell you that before your journal fell apart!

I think oven drying might make it more brittle, setting it in front of a fan might work better. Good luck.

Amazing results, I hope it holds together. I think I will cook a stack of papers. The mica is great, the photopaper gave fantastic results too. The colors are unbelievable. Maybe use some Yupo paper stencils in the stack, they won't disintegrate. So much fun from such a creative lady, thank you for the inspiration! LOVE IT!

Wouah 🤩 j'ai déjà vu un ensemble de feuilles de papiers divers et noués en sandwich, cuit à la casserole avec des fleurs naturelles entre quelques pages et c'était déjà tres beau, mais là un journal entier commentu l'as fait je n'avais jamais vu ça !! Bravo pour en avoir fait l'expérience ! This is SSOOO exciting, honestly!!! I'm wondering what's gonna happen next 😳 AND I'm planning my pages 🤔 - various types of paper I can put together (cardstock, vellum, photo paper, etc.) and different things I can add between the pages (paprika, rusty metal, flower petals), and things I might add to the water (vinegar, alum, whatever else I can find). I have a stupid appointment today - well, it's not really a "stupid" appointment, it's a very worthwhile appointment - but it's getting in my way here of playing mad scientist 🥸 with my papers!! Argghhh!! 😡 Luise!! Carry on, girl, this is a blast!! 💥 Well, hopefully not if we're careful 🤭🤞🙌. ❤❤❤
