It amazing how we in Liberia west Africa call it breadnut also. My favorite.

My grandmother made a delicious breadnut dish which is lost to antiquity.. We were all born in Dominica and moved to Trinidad and Tobago many decades ago.

Jackfruit and breadfruit are popular all over Jamaica but breadnut...not so much. I have seen breadnut trees there in Jamaica but I never had the fruit or the nut and have never met anybody in Jamaica who have had it. Would love to give it a try.

I don't think it's a fruit...is it?

It comes from a fruit similar to breadfruit. Break open the fruit when its ripe and the nuts are inside @LimeLivesMatter

Nice video. Try cooking for half an hour, by that time it will burst, then add salt and boil again for the next half hour. By doing so u will use less salt. Also, if you live close to the sea, try boiling it in sea water :).

Hello, just to clarify, breadnut and breadfruit trees are NOT jackfruit trees. Jackfruits have much bigger fruits.
@CRUDE3602 жыл бұрын
can you compare it to cooked Jackfruit seeds please ? tnx
@JOANNESKITCHEN20212 жыл бұрын
It's the same as the jackfruit actually.. we just call it breadnut in my country

@arrhazes8198 Жыл бұрын
@@JOANNESKITCHEN2021 Actually they're two related but very different trees. Jackfruit tree leaves are much smaller and their fruit are much, much bigger.
