Let's Create a Character for D&D 2024

I thought it might be helpful to see a process of character creation both in concept and on the technical front.
For reference, I'm using a downloaded copy of the character sheet to write on in Adobe for ease in the video. But typically I'm a pen and paper kind of guy.

I know I left out a lot of the fiddly bits for the character creation like more basic equipment as well as alignment, goals and flaws, things like that. Some of the more abstract stuff should probably be done at session zero. And I know stocking up on rations and bedrolls is not all that fun to watch. Having said that, I'm the type of player who gets excited by seeing grappling hook and chalk in my inventory.

Is there a character that carries explosives and makes traps??? That's pretty much the equivalent to the militaries Combat Engineer

With artificer you could build and deploy a squad of bo-ombs from Mario Bros. That would be epic
