You’re spot in with the sales tax, dude. I think there should be a separation between business/shops and independent sellers-there’s no reason an independent seller should have to factor in sales tax, on used gear, to their price. I began using Craigslist and Facebook Market again for the tax reason alone. A business/shop charging tax on used gear, that makes sense, you’d pay tax if you went into a physical location. Also, people have been jacking up shipping prices too, to make a few extra bucks there. That’s also frustrating.

Yeah there are stores that will ship to TX without sales tax. Buying NEW from them is sometimes cheaper than used on Reverb. Ridiculous!

Makes it super hard to care. Right now, I can use a 15% off coupon at Pitbull Audio and get a better deal on a NEW guitar than a used one. Pretty weird.

Most of the good deals were when the Crona pandem happened, people panic selling. Just wait until next year when things go downhill again because of politics. :)

What most important is you’re satisfied with some of the great guitars you have, and I read the comments that you have an AxeFX3. I can only imagine how daunting all the options that provides. Myself, I am not inspired to play. Now is the time to sell, but I’m not selling, just keeping the jam room available in case I want to throw down. Craigslist offered two nice Marshall 4x cabs, so I bought those for cash, and added new Greenback speakers to them, taking pride in wiring my own cabs (it’s easy) they were built as 2x12s and connected to three Marshall amps. Very happy with the sound of these speakers, all Heritage Greenback, G12M 20s, G12H(55), and G12H(75). Recording them makes for great tones, but the uninspired part keeps me from dropping a new song. Work is well, family sold their house in TX, and are moving to FL so I am losing my connection to TX, but will have my Mom within driving distance, and that’s always a good thing. Yeah maybe the pandemic has sapped our collective inspiration. I've been feeling a bit of that as well. Hard to get motivated to put out the longer videos, that's for sure. I've definitely noticed some used guitars I'm watching go up in price slowly. Very odd. Usually it goes the other way lol. I've heard that due to fewer people flying in general, distribution slow downs are more common. Maybe the new market has too many "More On The Way" or "Out of Stock" labels and has people flocking to the used market.

I agree with the overpricing bull. It’d be cool if you had a similar segment on amps and pedals. Right now I’m hoping used dual rectifiers go down with the badlander coming out but the way things are going.. the used ones will go up in price

I don't honestly know much about pedals. They seem to hold their value pretty well, but I mostly stick to Axefx3 so my knowledge on them is super limited.

as small of a logo they used on the back anyway it prob wouldve fit just fine on the head stock. does look kinda plain i like the arm contour on the front the how it sweeps straight like after in a Aristides fashion lol contour matches the contour on the headstock looks cool!

Yeah I think it really looks great. Would love to try one. Price is a little steep, and I just really wish they would put -anything- on the headstock. I bet they would, if you asked.

I just checked on your reverb site, and it says sales tax - 0. Maybe the guy that bought from you was in your state?

That's the weird thing, he wasn't. I had to refund him twice before we just gave up. Maybe it's still an option, but I've had three different people mention it to me on Reverb now. If I follow this link (help.reverb.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033267434-I-Use-Reverb-Sites-Are-Taxes-Handled-Differently-for-Orders-on-my-Website-) through to the policy page, it has a large list of states. It's possible yours is one of the few that doesn't apply?

I can't speak for everyone, but mostly I'm curious to try stuff and don't love going to stores. Covid made stores even less of an option. Since I don't have infinite money, I have to buy and sell stuff to try it out, and keep the ones I like.
