She looks so fun! I've played a fighter, a warlock, and a cleric/rogue for the longer campaigns I've played. All three of them have a lot of heart but aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the bunch haha. I have an idea for my next character to be more of the brainy, high-int character. I'm leaning towards wizard for her, but I also could see her being a bard. Her main gimmick is that she has a really hard time casting spells normally, but she's REALLY good at making magic wands, and she has one wand at her belt for each spell she knows. Mechanically, I don't see this changing anything about how she works as a spellcaster, but I'm very excited to play it from a flavor/role-play perspective. I want her to click clack around as they all hit against each other as she walks or for her to have to fumble for the correct wand to cast the correct spell when she needs it, maybe sometimes grabbing the wrong one by accident. When she levels up and takes new spells, you'll find her whittling away at some wood that night making her new wands. I've also always played characters who can be a bit impulsive and follow their hearts rather than logic. This spawns on some level from the fact that the other players in my group often fall into the rut of overthinking every encounter, but if I'm able to push them away from that a bit I'd love to paly this wizard as someone who sticks to the most objectively logical choice.

YESS! I’m currently playing a white-haired eloquence bard (though she’s a pallid elf, not air genasi) and it’s so much fun! Might be my favorite class now, and I thought I’d never play a bard before making this character! Love the thimbles as her spellcasting focus, it’s unique and fits so well^^

For one-shots I have a family similar to the Belmonts from Castlevania (as in I ripped the idea right out the book an put my name on it) called the Rodriguez. Every character is just a member of this monster hunting family and it's really fun watching this little family tree grow.

Lovely character! Though I kind of expected that from you, lolz For me it's funny, because I've made characters of every archetype (2 or more of each class and almost every race, plus ofc all sorts of personalities), but I've only really played a small few of them (I DM quite a bit). I'm getting to be a player next campaign though, so should be interesting!

As someone who has spent most of their time in very long campaigns or as a DM, there are so many archetypes and classes I have yet to try! I’ve played characters with goofy aesthetics but never one with a silly personality. Maybe I’m a little too serious 😅

I'm posting all the reactions today :P But I can't not answer the final question of the video! Besides DMing a bunch of 5e campaigns, and getting to play in one as well :D, I have recently gone back to Call of Cthulhu. Seventh Edition this time, the one by Chaosium. I think it's an elegant system, especially the way you level up your skills and how being bad at them but succeeding makes it more likely that you learn from that occasion and level them up. And I just love the whole idea of Lovecraftian tales and all the fantastic world building you can do around that. I have so many plans for both refreshing my old setting, as well as writing new self contained stories! I do believe that those last ones is where Call of Cthulhu really gets to shine. What's the latest new(ish) system you tried out?

As a DM of an elequenz Bard with that feature, Expertise in Persuasion and Deception and 20 Charisma. I don't know how Wizards allowed that, it's so broken😂

I think I do have a propensity to play a sort of oddball character that starts out pretty basic and silly- essentially everything is vague and noncommittal because I'm kinda slow to grasp and remember lore for a campaign up front. A lot of the solidifying and fleshing out is dependent on me being able to shape something interesting later on

i am dming for the first time in my group and 2 of my players both made characters that either cannot speak or have alot of trouble speaking which i find funny cuz i also have a npc i was going to have that also has trouble speaking
