Well aware that the Model S P100D is significantly quicker. So if anyone wants to volunteer theirs for an acceleration test, hit me up on Instagram. Also, why didn't I use launch control? Tesla 3 performance and hellcat owner here:) I also test drove a new p100x and found it pretty nice but the acceleration a bit underwhelming. I also did not use launch control and not much difference than my Tesla. My hellcat would destroy it from a roll once it hooks. The Tesla 3 performance also recently received another software power update thats clearly noticeable at all speeds, not just from a dig. People are reporting 3 mph faster in the 1/4. Love your videos. Great quality of course. You keep it real and seem unbiased as well.

Great video, loved that you spelled everything you did out and why, unlike Top Gear's terrible Taycan race. I'd only point out that the latest model X P100DL Raven is now listed as having a 2.7 second 0-60, and starts at $105k. For those 'value' shoppers... No need to pay $6500 for the 6 seat captain's chairs option unless they have 3+ kids or need to drive a lot of people around. The 7 seat bench option holds more people and 'only' costs $3500. There's definitely no need to get the 22" black rims for $5500. Want black wheels, get the standard wheels professionally painted or dipped for a few hundred bucks. Also, paint prices are a rip off, stick with white. FSD is still fairly pointless and a rip off at $7k! Nope, not unless in 5 or so years you're planning to have your car drive around on its own and pickup randos, or you really really hate Uber enough when you're out drinking that you insist on paying a fortune to have your own car drive you home.
@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy5 жыл бұрын
I wish I could elaborate more in the video. The Autopilot was useful in major highways and roads but it is definitely no where near autonomous yet and agreed, I would fight myself on that price. As for the top end acceleration, I think the Raven would be maybe a few tenths faster in both tests, but not enough for it to be competitive past ~110MPH.

You should have done more tests without ludicrous mode. Mostly because nobody is driving with that on all the time and if somebody were to pull up next to them the other person wouldn't give them time to activate it. Not only that but what if you don't have more than 80% of the battery and attempted this? There's a lot of factors when it comes to the Tesla, but people don't want to express everything. It's a nice video but the whole 90% Plus Battery to run a better time almost sounds like only having one gallon in the tank while you're making a pull. 🤷♂️
@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy5 жыл бұрын
Yeah there are way too many factors to make the car run at peak performance (battery warm up, ludicrous+ only, above 80-90% charge on the battery, 10 minute cool downs between runs). It's great to show your friends a few times, but as a real performance car, it doesn't have what it takes to compete. I drove around mainly in Ludicrous only, and it was fast enough. If I remember correctly, it was like 40-100 in 6.24 but I didn't try it for the 60-130. I would guess it's like mid 13s at that point. Ludicrous+ with under 80% charge is like running in normal Ludicrous mode.
@CRMXL5 жыл бұрын
@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy I really appreciate the reply and added info on the video. Now I wish someone would let you borrow and I Pace settings it doesn't matter if you get the cheap one or the most expensive model. They're all the same when it comes to drivetrain and Power. I mean I'm still thinking of getting that car because I was impressed that it was as quick may be a little bit quicker than the giulia but I didn't have to sacrifice out of pocket more money for more power. There is an interesting thing though bad the stock I Pace may be faster due to having the 18in wheels vs. the bigger 20 or 22 I can't remember. If you're getting a Tesla then congrats and hope you can have a little bit more info for a car guy on the charging aspect at home and possibly how you do know what they installed the wiring ( mostly because that's my only hardpoint how the hell am I going to install this). Also I forgot to mention, the only reason I'm looking into an eye face is because over here they're going for 10 grand less than MSRP for some odd reason and that's before the tax incentive.
@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy5 жыл бұрын
Anytime man. I'll try to get my hands on one of those if it pops up. I just did an F-PACE SVR, but that has nothing to do with an I-PACE 😄. In terms of dealers slashing prices, I can only imagine them not selling well as all Jaguars sales have been relatively slow in general as of late. Might be a good deal to pick one up new and get that tax incentive. Now that I have the Model X as my benchmark, it'll be easy for me to compare to other EVs on the market.
@CRMXL5 жыл бұрын
@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy well on a side note oh, it's not that it's not selling well it's that apparently this dealership got these cars earlier than they were expected. Nobody in the dealership knows anything about this car and the Jaguar Branch doesn't get built into the building till next year. So honestly it's like they have Overstock and they just want to get rid of it. I mean that's good news to me and with an added 7500 in tax incentives and possibly another 2500, it's not a bad deal. 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds is about as fast as I've recorded on my EcoBoost probably a year ago and it's noticeably faster while it's going verses from a standstill which is what I like about the instant torque. I just don't like the video that they did comparing the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I pace, Toyota Supra 2020, and then they decided to put that Tesla Model 3 instead of the model X. To me that was a load of Bs. Mostly cuz you have 2 SUVs versus a car and they didn't decide to add Tesla's SUV. To me that was a little bit of a publicity stunt.
@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy5 жыл бұрын
Interesting, well both the E-Tron and I-PACE are on my list so hopefully I can find one soon. That little vacation I'll be taking is coming up soon though. It'll probably be next year and you'll have made your decision by then. I actually quite like the way the I-PACE looks.
