This is why pencils are my favourite medium..You can get really rich effects from layering or you can do soft gorgeous artworks like this one .This looks ,soft,translucent and also has an iridescence about it too.I love pencils.not only are they relaxing to use,but you feel what your doing more than with a paintbrush I think ..Love this 🥰

I do want to purchase these pastel colored pencils but I did as you suggested with my least favorite and discontinued pencil set Van Gogh Royal Talens and have a small group of pastel colors. Not nearly the variety as in that set. Oh boy. Will try these jellyfish. Love watching you draw!

These are gorgeous Lindsay! I've always been obsessed with jellyfish, even though the jerks never fail to target me at the beach. I've been stung by jellyfish even when I didn't set foot in the water. 😂

Thank you so much! They really look like fun. :) I think that is a great idea having the catalogs of projects available. Not only is it great for those who don't want a monthly subscription to deal with, but also I like seeing the photos of the projects all in one place so we know where to look for them. always wonderful projects and information. :)

When you mentioned brown bags I just recycled brown paper Amazon uk are using for packing, that might do the trick. Steve Mitchell did a video on pencil sharpener as he had a new one Afmat 6-12mm. It seems to go under the name Tihoo in 🇬🇧 with automatic stop and it does an excellent job on brutfuner square. Lovely pencils but frustrating to sharpen. Loved the jf on black. Thanks.

these jellyfishes look beautiful! i got my macarons today and only sharpened and swatched them and i already like them more than my holbeins. i have a pastel set of 12 which i ordered from japan several years ago, the colours are beautiful, but i have to admit that i don't really like them or maybe i just don't know how to use them properly. i'm mainly using polychromos and prismacolor premier over my alcohol marker paintings, but open stock prismacolor pencils are hard to get here and the sets also got really expensive in the last years. i can get polychromos for 1,40 € or even less in germany, so i don't want to pay 2-3 euros for prismacolors. when searching for alternatives, i stumbled upon the brutfuners. i ordered the square ones and the macarons. i hope i'll like the square ones as much as i like the macarons. i'm excited to watch your video next week. i find your reviews really helpful.
@thefrugalcrafter3 жыл бұрын
If it wasn't for the low price if prisma here I wouldn't go for them. Derwent coloursoft are better quality for the softness if you are looking for that. They maybe cheaper where you live.
@agircekim3 жыл бұрын
@@thefrugalcrafter thank you for the recommendation. i'll look into them. i'm also eyeing the lightfasts, which i might buy when they are on sale and my budget will allow it. i had the chance to test some derwent drawing pencils, they were really smooth, but smudgy. i liked the matte finish. i heard that the lightfasts are similar, but not that smudgy. i think the coloursoft would have a more waxy finish, i hope i can test them out soon.
@ChristinaTodd19703 жыл бұрын
Which do you like better? The Brutfuner Square or Macaron set? I think Harry (Art Gear) said the Square ones were better, softer with more pigment, but I may have them switched around. He said one was definitely better but I can't remember which.
@thefrugalcrafter3 жыл бұрын
These are not the same formula as the rounds from the 520 set. I compare them all in the review next week. I think the macaron pencils are slightly better than the squares and a good deal better than the rounds in the 520 set. I would love this formula (from the pastels) expanded.

Thank you Lindsay! If I can make one request? I know that you want to sell your lessons and you are truly generous with your pricing. Perhaps you could slow down your Timelapse version that you post here? Not so much that you hurt sales but just a bit so if we pause during the course of the video we see more definitive steps during the video. I completely understand if it is more work than it is worth. Editing videos is difficult enough and we do appreciate all of the different ways you show everyone how to create Art! Thank you. Happy New Years!

Honestly when it comes to sea creatures, if you draw them and they come out exceptionally weird looking you can always just call them a "deep sea" whatever it's supposed to be 👍 deep sea animals are basically space aliens anyway, and no one's going to know the difference 🤣
