@@gumleaf_crochet_and_yarn I really love those muted colours too. I wasnt sure about the bright blue and orange/red ones but they’ve come up so pretty once they dried.

At time 7:11 you said you were turning up the heat but you didn’t mention to what level. Medium? Low medium? If your stoves have numbers on it, how many and what number did you turn it to? What kind of wash did you pour over your yarn? Dish soap or a yarn soap? Last, whipping yarn over your shoulder to get the tangles out? Maybe in your next dying video can you show us the whipping process so we can see what the yarn looks like before during and after the whipping? Sorry for all the questions. They are by no means a critique of your video, I am just a detailed oriented person, and you have inspired me to possibly try finding undyed yarn and dying my own. Otherwise, if I didn’t want to go through that process, I wouldn’t be asking questions in the video was a good video to give a generalized view of how dying yarn happens. The colors of the yarns after they dried were beautiful. Thanks for inspiring me.

@@CuriousinNY not at all. Thankyou for all your questions. I’m only new to dyeing so you’ve addressed a few things I need to talk about in my next dyeing video. I’m making a tutorial at the moment on my yarn choices and dyeing so keep an eye out for that. But just to answer your questions briefly now: I turn the heat up to high. On my dial it’s the highest setting so the water is bubbling. I keep dyeing until the water turns clear making sure not to over boil it otherwise the wool can felt or the water runs dry. It’s a learning process for me and I aim to take others on this journey with me as I’m learning so please ask, advise, critique away. I really appreciate it. When I wash the wool in my laundry tub before rinsing and spinning in my machine I add some wool wash in the tub, just a cap full. It softens the fibres. The whipping process I’ll try to show you in the next video, but I I have since purchased a hand steamer from Big W that I use to loosen any tangles and I’ll show that in next video too. I hope that’s helped. Let me know if there’s anything else. 🌸🌺

Do you have a pattern for the blue doily at 42 seconds? It is so beautiful! I am hoping you made it and it wasn’t a gift. If you did make it, that would make for a nice crochet along for us viewers.

@@CuriousinNY I know the doiley you mean. Yes I did make it a few years ago. I must see if I can find the pattern for you. Check my Instagram account too @crochetcavalier it may be on there. I’ll be back! 😀🌸
