There's a TYPO at 3:44 I meant to type 625 not 656 for the torque

This is going to be great. Getting the baseline numbers before jumping into the build is genius! What better way to chart the journey?!? Can’t wait for the next video!

If you wanna get into the 3’s consistently, drop rear tire pressures to 26, traction control off, track mode, quick burnout with smoke to put heat and sticky in the tires then stomp and let it shift.👍

Try a baseline roll (60-130 or 30-80) or whatever you are comfortable with. That’s a more consistent way to see improvement. trying 0-60 with your current tire set up is never going to be consistent, there’s just too many variables (Torque management, traction control, tire spin). Or run that beast to the 1/8th and compare trap speed!

Love this series. Im also in the Phx area and have a '18 ZL1 (stock minus a roto/s-type). I do have a question though, any reason you chose Vivid for your tune vs other shops (like cordes)? Looking forward to more videos!
@TORQToolbox3 жыл бұрын
Vivid Racing wanted to use my car to develop some tunes for them to sell. Cordes is awesome, but Vivid allowed me to do the Dyno for no charge.
@AZIROC3 жыл бұрын
@@TORQToolbox I can't argue the cost of free. Hopefully they are discounting the cost of the tunes if they are using your car as a test mule. Ill be curious of the gains with headers (I was going to go with the same CSP as you did). Past that, im just torn on upper or lower pulley and suspension. My biggest thing is I want to keep some kind of reliability, don't need/want a 1000hp car.

I feel like 5th or 6th gear on these is the gear to do dyno pulls in since one of them is closest to 1:1 ratio.

Suspension is too stiff on track mode. Need to run it in sport mode traction control off with the tires heated and lowered PSI. 10-12 PSI is what I usually run at. Also try 60-130 runs. Its more of a true gauge on performance. Takes traction out of the mix
@ASFSnugglyPuffs3 жыл бұрын
60-130!

Did you try warming up the tires before you did the 0-60? That should help a lot...even though I didn`t do it when I was trying my 0-60

How’s the suspension on the 1LE? Is it to stiff to daily? Many of the automotive talking heads say it is, but other cars they say the same about didn’t seem to bad to me.
@mrjjthor Жыл бұрын
This is a late reply but maybe it'll help others who reads this. The suspension is very stiff and bumpy. It's not too bad after switching to Michelin tires but overall if your area has bad roads you will be bouncing everywhere in the zl1 1le. On the freeway it's pretty comfortable. I've driven the my z1le for a 1500 mile round trip and had a blast. IMO only a few are able to daily this this vehicle but I'd say most people won't. I sometimes get headaches after driving the car for a while but I'm guessing that's from my bad neck. Even though the z1le is bumpy the driving experience is so rewarding. It gets my adrenaline rushing each time I take the car out where I don't dealing with the headaches every now and then. Before I bought my z1le I owned a 17 ZL1. The car still handles great but the z1le takes it to a whole new level of fun. Speed wise its gonna be similar.

Chevy has listed that it makes 650hp stock from factory??.
@Omega_TTRS2 жыл бұрын
There’s a difference between BHP (brake horsepower) and WHP (wheel horsepower). Chevy rates the car at 650bhp. The dyno reads what the car is putting to the ground through the entire drivetrain; which is the WHP number. There’s completely different testing standards to obtain the BHP number.
@AnkhsZL12 жыл бұрын
I do better numbers in my ZL1 with Traction Control off. You have to learn your car so you can get the most out of it. I take off in 2nd gear 3.97. And I'm stock

Not true about the C8 corvette not being able to go over a certain rpm before break in miles. Many KZbin videos out there disprove this. Street speed 717 took his to the real redline day one. Just the display changes, doesn’t stop you from reviving past 4500 etc.
@TORQToolbox3 жыл бұрын
oh ok good to know man...I guess the article I read from Chevrolet that stated that the torque was limited for the first 500 miles was false?
@300zxdriver3 жыл бұрын
@@TORQToolbox I didn’t say anything about torque being limited or not. But I will say I’ve seen big tuners dyno C8s before 1000 mile break in and get the same hp numbers. 🤷🏻♂️ no hate love your type R.
