I've missed watching you ride. For the last ten weeks, Me And My Royal Enfield have been on our own journey, Arizona, New Mexico, and west Texas. Nothing as exotic as your journey, but for me it was amazing. Camping areas I've never seen before about to becomes my favorite places, and people I've never known before unknowingly about to become my friends. I'm in my little house now and today I put my tent up in the living room because... well I'm telling myself it is because I needed to air it out. But I think we both know it was because I was missing my home. My heart is still in the journey. Watching this video I had to chuckle at the coincidence as my rear wheel is in my car trunk to get a new tire put on. I was warned by Margarita Motoress that this lifestyle is addictive, and she was right, I need more. Thank you for what you do. It helps to keep my embers burning.

That marvelous solitude of the hut on the beach... in themiddle of nowhere. and to move from that to supper in a home and from that to your escort out of town... and back into that other solitude, the one on two wheels going down the road into a new episode, a new adventure. I would like to make an ode to solitude. In August of 1976 i was on Crete, travelling happily alone. I took a bus ride at night and on a pocket brochure map there was a place on the way and a symbol that there were Greek ruins there. I asked the driver and he stopped for me. It was late, dark. I thot there would be a village. Maybe a place where travellers could stay who had come like me to see the ruins. There was no village. No light of any kind but star and moonlight that lit the ruins i was walking thru. I found a great flat carved stone in the ruins and tried to sleep there on that stone. The feeling of solitude and complete freedom to connect with the antiquity of the place all that night was so strong. I caught another bus n the morning and by nightfall i was at a terrific harbour front restaurant on the quai drinking Retsina and playing bakgamon with lots of people. And that happy drinking eating crowd made the solitude of the night before so strong i have kept the great feeling of it completely intact now for forty five years. I caught a glimpse of that same feeling of you alone with yourself and your camera in your open air hut watching the surf in the middle of nowhere. All freed up in your dress without no heavy riding boots and gear. And my thot at the moment was that you are having youself a little blessing.
