Ahh I remember you saying. They are a strange looking machine. Shame about the graphics chip the used although it gives it a certain unique look for sure. Thanks for the comment

The Dragon 32 was my first computer, which I got for my 12th birthday. I learnt to program Basic on it, and I found this really amazing at the time. It was something really new.
@Retro4u11 күн бұрын
Yeah 👍 I can't wait to get it powered on. Basic was just a great language to learn. I'm so glad it brought so much amazement to you. Something that is missing from today's consoles thanks for the comment.

Hi Peter!!

i have a electron with a plus one and a elkSD it is great and easy to use the dragon was very much on the radar back in the day but as most of us the lack of games was the kicker , the oric was nice and i seriously thought about an atmos back in the day but waited a bit while i checked my mates speccie +2 which was good but i was saving hard for an archie which had been talked about a lot in magazines , then i bought a motor bike and kind of left the computers behind because or birds and stuff , BUT i went to work for a controls company who used Archimedes as their head ends , the clever clogs bob wrote his management system on them and we used them for years until the hardware compatibility completely went windows , i took a risc 4000 home and still have it with no monitor because i couldn't get it on the back of my bike my favorite at the moment is the MSX sony hibit i have its games are very close to arcade i have an archie 3010 upgraded out the bottom and it is my very favorite so much so i went pi risc and now i have ordered a risc laptop !! fed up with windows with their faff
@Retro4u8 күн бұрын
Yeah the Electron was a great machine as a lot of acorn machines where . Shame what happened to all these companies. I have A3020 which I'm using more and more and really like it I didn't get to use these machines as they came out as I left school. I remember seeing them and seeing Zarch and thinking wow. At the time I was using an Atari STE and doing my BTEC computer studies a few years later with windows 3.11 and pascal and super base 4. Then I remember seeing rebel assault and x wing and that was that PCs entered my life lol 😂. Thanks for the comment and hope you find a monitor for your Archie I keep meaning to try the PI risc as it supposed to be quite good

Surely your "ZX82" is a naked ZX81? I got mine in kit form, though why it was built out of its case is anyone's guess. I also had an Oric 1 - underrated machine, awesome sound and the keyboard whilst not as good as a full one, was still way better than a spectrums. I upgraded to an Oric Atmos and that has the best keyboard I had ever used up until I bought a Keyboardio...
@Retro4u10 күн бұрын
Im not sure on the zxs they are strange I have about 4 like that I think. 🤔 oric 1 I never seen running so looking forward to trying to get these working. Personally I still think the BBC's had great keyboards. The hanks for the comment yeah weird how it hasn't got cases.
@TheBermudabob6810 күн бұрын
@Retro4u if you get the Oric working, try playing Zenon one and Zorgons Revenge. Shows the superior colour resolution over the spectrum. I think if you were clever you could get it to be about 1x3 pixels per colour.
@Retro4u5 күн бұрын
Ok thankyou for the suggestions. Yeah I realise my error with the zx82 lol 😂 will look them up :) thankyou again

No Apples! Were they not imported as much due to plethora of home grown options?
@Retro4u7 күн бұрын
Unfortunately no apples in this collection. I think apples were expensive choice although I do love them myself. They have a love hate thing here in the UK. You will see I've done some compacts on my channel before :). thanks for the comment

@@Retro4u Our Apple II had a CPM processor card and a disk with a color display. Clunky to run as you started the 6502 in Apple software first. We had several CPM machines, with the Kaypro being the previous favorite.

a vic 20 176 x 184was like an atari 2600 160 x 192 but you loaded the games via cassette
@Retro4u11 күн бұрын
Never thought of it that way. Now when I look at it I'll think 2600 with a keyboard. Although a lover bezerk on the 2600 every machine has it one quirkiness. I guess I should have mentioned more on the vic20 but wanted to mention the dragon 🐉 or coco due to its strange colour pallet. Thanks for the comment
@Mr.1.i10 күн бұрын
@Retro4u the 2600 was weird..cause it hardly had any memory 256bytes a ¼ kb it had more color than a lot of computers atari were ahead ...and they were caught up and surpassed with technology not as advanced....the xe should of happened at the same time as the c64,they might have made more of an impact....there where a few computers better than the c64 but where to late because of 16bit
