As a ex kalvin garage stan, I adore trendercore so much. It took me so much extra time to figure out who I am due to the push for me to hate the fact I’m trans and hate my body when in reality, I don’t. I don’t hate being trans I think it’s really neat and sometimes I don’t mind my curves and I don’t mind my boobs sometimes which is totally cool. I don’t need to be disappointed. I don’t need to be disappointed for dressing how I want.

I'm happy that trendercore is so empowering, i'm cis, also bi, but the whole "transtrender" thing really upsets me, I mean, i just hate minorities judging minorities, it doesn't make sense to me, we should help eachother, there's so much more to life than trying to limit ourselves just to satisfy some society niche, they don't do that for us

The positivity of this video is so much more powerful than negative videos that shame trans people.
@micky2708
@micky2708 5 жыл бұрын
I think trendercore is nice because it’s a reclamation of something that’s been put on others in a way to shame them. It seems very healing to me for people who have been put down or demonized for how they dress/express themselves. While I don’t participate in it, I understand why it exists and I’m glad people (who want to) can have a way to reclaim something that’s been negative/harmful to them. It just seems so positive and honestly we need more of that. Especially now with all the influx of hate towards trans people/ trans nonbinary people

coming back to this video/comment a over a year later to say I've started to explore more abstract parts of my gender and have also added another name I love being called-Moth- that before now I would've been too afraid to express or explore. I still don't fully participate in trendercore but I have been able to explore my gender more and find more labels like really fit for me like voidgender or gendervoid. Also have been thinking of adding or exploring neopronouns to add them later on because while I love they/them, for me finding very specific ways to help communicate my gender to others or just for myself is something that means a lot to me.

ok ngl. when you started reading that first trendersona post and alternated pronouns i almost started crying. i know this video is kind of old but I must say. i use multiple pronoun sets as well and people almost always will just use he/him for me with no alternation and just hearing someone alternate between someone else's pronoun sets made me so euphoric

Hoo boy, I'm not being good to my fellow enbys. I didn't know people wanted their pronouns alternated like that. As an enby who only uses she/her, I had no clue. This is probably a weird thing to notice but I really like how effortlessly you'll use mixed pronouns for people who have separate ones? ie that he/they/it sona at the beginning and you used a diff pronoun for each bullet point? idk as an author who sees a lot of readers choose and stick to just one pronoun set for my multi-pronouned characters it's just nice to see

I've got a genderfluid character who "came out" around 2018-2019 so I made practice of using he/they/her pronouns for them to the point that it felt natural and effortless whenever I say it. I hope to do more of this for other queer OCs of mine,because it's really nice.

This was really interesting for me to watch! As a trans man who presents much more traditionally and who doesn't consider his transness as much of a big part of who he is, the whole trendercore thing is something that I would never be a part of myself, but I can see how happy it makes people, and it's Awesome! I also love how much it advocates for self-love! plus, although I do get kind of dysphoric sometimes, it's hardly enough for me to justify any kind of medical transition so I have no plans for surgery or hrt or anything, so I'm also very glad that this movement is helping people be more aware of and comfy with the idea that not all trans people medically transition, and that's Fine and Valid Too! nice!

I cannot express how happy I am that you're here to share this positivity and be here as a fellow nonbinary trans guy. There aren't enough people on youtube who reflect my identity back at me and it's really nice to feel "not alone" when it feels like there's so many privileged binary Kalvin Garrahs out there. Keep it up Ashton!!

I feel trendersynth down in my soul lol. I was born in 87 and grew up in the 90's. Some of my favorite childhood memories were spent in the arcade. I love anything galaxy, space, moon, stars, purple, blue, etc. Combine that with some punk rock, and a WHOLE LOT OF NERD and that's definitely my aesthetic. I just came out as non binary last year because I had finally found a word that describes how I've always felt. I absolutely love this community and how beautiful, loving, and accepting it is. We all deserve to be fucking celebrated

I'm 26 now, and I wish I had your level of self-awareness and knowledge of trans/generally queer stuff when I was your age. Lmao I kinda did a flip of what normally happens- I identified as nonbinary for about a year, and during that time I only thought the logical pronouns were they/them, she/her, and he/him. I was an intense transmed and Kalvin Garage stan (ew) Now that I have discovered I actually identify with my cisgender pronouns, (she/her) I absolutely love neopronouns and I think all trans people, no matter what gender, what pronouns, appearance or transition you are valid !! ❤️ So yeah, I went from being an annoying gatekeeper transmed to being a complete ally to all of my trans comrades! (I am adopting you all) Love your lesbian mom

Does anyone know of any videos specifically about trans/NB people I can watch???

@@unfortunate_bee as someone who does experience dysphoria and just generally fits under transmeds' description of what a "real trans person" is - i didn't realize i was trans because i hate being a girl, i realized i was trans when people thought i was a boy and i really enjoyed it. i feel so, so much happier being recognized as a guy. with my experience with depression and general self-loathing that i've dealt with for most of my life, i don't think i would have even recognized it as a gender thing until i felt that *euphoria.* and i'm living my best life now :) some people don't feel dysphoria at all - they just feel so much happier when they can express what they identify as. the "you don't need dysphoria to be trans" statement is 1. to be more accepting of those who feel only euphoria 2. (more importantly) to make being transgender less about misery and self-hatred and more about celebrating your newfound self and just being happy with who we are now i hope that made sense, i tend to ramble a bit, heh

@@indridcold9593 ok both you and blue may, let try to explain my side. People with gender dysphoria DO feel gender euphoria as well. If you feel euphoria identifying as the opposite gender, (or nonbinary genders) doesn't that mean you feel some kind of discomfort with your birth sex? A common misconception I see is that people think you need to have intense life ruining horrible dysphoria to be trans. You don't. Even a small amount of discomfort with what you were assigned at birth and a euphoric feeling as the other gender is enough to transition and call yourself trans. I'm not one of those people who thinks you need the worst dysphoria to be trans lol so please don't get the wrong idea. But what I'm trying to say is, don't we technically agree? If you feel euphoric identifying as a different gender, you must have some kind of discomfort with your birth sex, like not wanting to use those pronouns and being misgendered would make you uncomfortable. That's a form of dysphoria. Just because it's not intense really bad body dysphoria, doesn't mean it's not dysphoria of some kind. I think what y'all r trying to say is you don't need body dysphoria to be trans, and I agree. Sorry literally none of that made sense I'm really bad with putting my thoughts into words. Also sorry if any of that sounded rude I'm really trying to understand your side :-(
@indridcold9593
@indridcold9593 4 жыл бұрын
@@unfortunate_bee it's ok! i'm also having difficulty thinking of how to phrase this, so here's a weird analogy lol let's say that every person i walk up to is going to feed me either a spoon of baked beans or a piece of chicken. i haaaate baked beans, eating them is super unpleasant for me, i would much rather eat the chicken. someone else might be perfectly fine with both the beans and the chicken, but still prefer the chicken cause it's a bit tastier to them. although they don't dislike the beans, they might request the chicken and be told "no fuck u you're getting beans," which would make them go "wow rude >:/" i'm running on 3 hours of sleep, my brain is melted, and i'm rambling about beans but. - i don't think having a preference for something requires having an active dislike for other alternatives - i think being misgendered makes just about everyone uncomfortable, but for people who don't experience dysphoria, the discomfort is caused by being disrespected i am glad that we can agree on the body dysphoria thing, there are a lot of people who glorify self-hatred and make it like a competition of whos the most valid and that just makes me sad

I didn't know people actually use "it" as a pronoun. "It" is the pronoun i grew up being called and the pronoun im most comfortable with. From where i came from, if you are a minor, your elders can refer to you as "it" and your close friends can also refer to you as "it". But when you call someone who is not very close to you and isn't younger than you "it", then it's a derogatory term 😅. As you may guess, I dont tell people i prefer to be called "it" since my friends and elders already did. And if a stranger suddenly call my "it", i would feel offended 😂.

Oof,im now so angry i once lowkey liked kalvin, tho i always had a feeling what he said is wrong. Now im 6 months away from starting testosterone and i am so happy i stopped holding myself from exploring my gender. I felt like im 100% not cis but i also liked some feminine clothes and aesthetics and wanted push myself to identifying as binary trans man to be taken seriously by everyone(i live in Poland so oof),it felt so wrong i got back to identifying as just very masc lesbian for a while but obv it felt really bad too. And now i realized im just a feminine enby guy and im finally happy. The thing that made even more happy was finding abt xenogenders and trendercore bc even tho im happy with just saying im just nonbinary and not going any further bc there are no accurate labels for me,but i now see an opportunity to find exactly a term for who i am.
