Hi guys! Short one today; I had to move the 1950 Buick Roadmaster and the 1960 Peugeot 403 to make room for a hoist for the yard here... Always a good time to hear some of these classic yard cars fire up and move themselves around... Hope you enjoy!
See you on Saturday for the SOS... Cheers!

I gave 250 bucks for a 49 Roadmaster with a rebuilt engine and trans and rust free body because the man wanted it gone from in front of his house. His son was partying in it every afternoon with his friends. It wouldn't run, had a cracked distributor cap. I put a new cap on it and drove it home twenty plus miles. This was back in 1996. Hearing that Buick was music to my ears.

I used to steal the old man's 49 and pick up the guys and get beers...I'm positive that Roadmaster would do 100 easy but that's the last thing you wanna do with a tank like that. It was 1/4 turn before the wheels steered I had to look THRU that giant steering wheel

Yo Scott, I was born and raised in Flint Michigan. Those sweet old Buicks were a staple in our neighborhood. Half of everyone I knew worked for Buick motor division of GM. My Gand mother worked there pin striping wheels back in the 1920s.

Comment for the algorithm here. I am old enough to have sat in the back of a 1952 Buick and seen Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (separate years, of course) circa 1965 in a drive-in theater as a circa seven-year-old, drinking a ten ounce bottle of Mountain Dew, while my parents split a six-pack of Budweiser. I remember still being thirsty after the Mountain Dew and told my parents so, and they basically told me tough isht. I countered with, well, you both had three beers each, and I only had one small bottle. Mother's response: Shut up! Oh! And this just came back to me! The East Coast US Summer sun can make the interior of a car pretty hot. Somewhere within the range of being 7 years old I remember purposely getting into our beastly hot 1952 Buick on the hottest Summer Days with the car in direct sun and windows rolled up and seeing how long I could take the heat, baking myself in that car and coming out a sweaty mess. I remember how cool the summer sun felt in contrast after getting out of that car. I guess I am lucky to be here today😂 Thats my Buick Story.

When I was a kid, back in the 1960s, a guy named Jean Shepherd had a radio show on WOR 710AM from New York.. Shep was a storyteller, a humorist in the vein of Samuel Clemens. He was on every night from 10:45 to 11. You can find some of his stories right here on KZbin. (for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4ick2abbtl5pac ) . Anyway, one of his sponsors was Peugeot. Well, there was some special deal, I don't remember what, but if you wrote to WOR to Peugeot you could get a coffee cup with the company name, or something. Anyway, he said, "I know you're all Americans so don't worry about the French spelling just spell it P-O-O-J-O-E and it'll get to me." I still remember that after all these years because it made me laugh.
@cmans79tr7

@Powelmountain - Shep in another 60's vintage radio episode here on YT also had read a couple of commercials for a Rover 2000 or 2.5 I forget which. Even mentioned the price, which seemed to be pretty high for those times. I don't have the link, though. I heard somewhere that Shep had eclectic tastes in automobiles, hence the offbeat car brands advertising on his radio show.
