I agree. This reminds me of what I learned from another KZbin, Hitomi. When we do something cringey in front of other people and someone else makes fun of it or doesn’t connect with the cringey thing, we shouldn’t be embarrassed because in that moment we were being our authentic selves and that person didn’t connect with it and that’s okay. We shouldn’t be embarrassed at our own authenticity. That’s on that other person. They didn’t get it and whatever.

I almost couldn't believe my luck when I saw that you posted this video discussing embrassment, since today has been a particularly hard, yet mostly shameful day for me. I've done some mistakes that (thankfully) only disadvantage myself, so no harm done, but I'm terrified, because I soon have to admit those issues to others. This topic was amazingly timed for me and I loved how you approached it, I'll be taking notes!! I'll try to get through this with more acceptance and maybe even laughter
@sunnysunflowers3283 ай бұрын
I used to worry a lot abbout fitting when I was younger because I was afraid of sticking out and being teased mercilessly by my peers. I also came from a family that made (light) fun of failures so it only made me more conscious of my mistakes and being watched. Now that I'm a young adult with basically no friends, I can try new stuff and fail and laugh at myself. There is no one watching or judging me. I've also accepted that my happiness comes first. Embarrassment is no longer a problem when you love or accept all parts of yourself. It will not kill you.

Asked a girl out at work and she said she had a bf which I kind of knew but wasn't sure of. The thing is, I needed to ask her to get over my own need for validation from everyone. Rosy cheeks came out in the moment, sure but I was proud of myself and now I can talk to her like a normal person instead of a pedestal.

How were you able to read my mind?? The timing of your videos amaze me! 😂 I recently helped my colleagues to talk to a few foreign tourists at a place i worked at, and afterwards felt really embarrassed because i kept slipping up (and also I'm still not proficient with professional English yet) and I'm still trying to recover myself from it. I felt pressured because i knew i was carrying the name of my company when working and had to be mindful of what i say, leading me to stutter a few times when talking. It isn't easy, but I'm still trying to cut myself some slack and to admit i did a pretty good job for my first time!

I love how this video popped up after feeling so embarrassed about something I did that I didn't go to school today😶 helped me realize how I constantly criticize myself over the tiniest things when not many people actually care/or have even thought about the things I think about myself, thank you

you are so beautiful, you remind me of Anne Hathaway. Also, you have so much wisdom at such a young age and have helped me with showing who I really am and not a watered down version. From a young age, for whatever reason, I have felt an unexplainable sense of embarrassment for just being myself and liking the things I like. But I’ve started to accept who I am and the fact that by just being my authentic self it makes the world a more beautiful place.

I love how much you love yourself! I’ve watched a few of your videos and you’ve perfectly articulated what I’ve been going through the past few years on my own journey of growth. Everyone, remember to take care of your physical wellbeing because the impacts it has on your emotional wellbeing is significant. I found out recently I have asthma and have been having chronic respiratory infections. I would always push through the pain and treated it like it was normal. Once I finally identified it as a problem and began treating it, my entire outlook on life changed and it became so much easier to become the person I wanted to be. I could finally look in the mirror and recognize myself. Thank you Inayah for sharing your own journey with the world.

I think this topic is closely related to staying in a "comfort zone" like being afraid to be a judge for the sake of not feeling embarrassed or cringing is choosing comfort over growth (in some cases of). As someone who cares a lot about what people think, I experienced it when I pursued photography. I'm still working on my confidence but it takes a lot of courage to take photos especially in the streets and for a topic that you're the only one who understands. It's always like that being creative, which means having distinct and odd ideas from the rest which sometimes you wish you can explain it to every people for the sake of saving yourself from comments and judgments. But over time I realize that people don't care and that all of us are busy minding our own business.

inayah Thank you so much for your beautiful words on embracing embarrassment. Your perspective really hit home and made me realize that growth often comes from stepping out of our comfort zones. You've given me the courage to face my fears and turn awkward moments into opportunities for learning. I'm truly inspired by your motivation!

I wasn't able to watch the whole video, but I will say as a neurodivergent person (someone not only with adhd, but I struggle with social cues), we didn't get the memo. Because of this I've had to rely on humiliation and self-flagellation to condition myself to mask. It taught me social cues so that I wouldn't ruin my reputation with jobs and stuff. This is unfortunately where a lot of trauma comes for folks like me.

It was so quite and then I suddenly fart, I act as if I was unaware and unbothered but these 2 other guys I can tell from their faces that they almost burst out to laugh. Well, I thought they should laugh it out or else they'll gonna fart it out.
