As new part time RV'ers and watching your parking debacles with the larger truck, I am glad I made the decision to purchase the class A diesel pusher and pull the smaller Jeep behind. I struggled with that purchase because I already have a new F250 I could have used. But felt the extra travel room would be better for our 3 English Bulldogs as well.

We use a small carabiner to retain the caps on the hose storage tubes. The ones without a hinge need to have the cap replaced with the holes lined up. I don’t trust the little plastic tabs on the hinged ones so I have one there as well. The carabiners with a barrel that threads over the opening are extra security and we have them hanging so they won’t come unscrewed during travel. Love your videos, hope to see you on the road.

Going back a few months a couple questions about the truck change. Thoughts about the 7.3 Godzilla if you were just pulling/moving a couple times a year like work camping in the north and then southern. I didn’t see what your 5th wheel specs were. We were going to g diesel but now thinking the 7.3 if we’re towing for a couple weeks twice a year for moves and probably 2-3 years. What’s your opinion for like gas and maintenance savings between the 2. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
@RVUntethered9 сағат бұрын
So far I don’t have a lot of maintenance data on the new truck to compare but assuming the RV you have is under the weight limit on the truck, that 7.3 F-350 is a great truck. Paired with a 3.73 rear end, power was never an issue for me. Fuel economy was not great but for occasional towing use I think you’ll find it’s worth the cost difference on the front end alone. The ten speed pairs up with it great. I loved that truck and it served us well towing weekly through 100,000 miles. No complaints here!

I understand big truck problems since I have a Sport Chassis M2-106 Freightliner. I had a 2021 Chevy 3500 Dually but opted for something with more weight as my 5th wheel is 20000lbs. But really other than being taller it’s not much different because the dually was about the same width and almost as long. But I will say the Sport Chassis turns much sharper.

I am always watching out for your truck. (Thanks for the tip, to never go into a parking garage.) Probably because we have basically the same truck, 2024 Ram 3500, Cummins, dually, Billet Silver, but it's a Tradesman, that came loaded with options, many of which you have added to yours, running boards, floor mats, rhino coated box. We chose the Tradesman for the front seat configuration because we have four grandchildren so we need the extra seat in the front when we take them all with us. I believe I have missed your episode that you installed your brush guard which I am most interested in doing. I noticed you were showing testing your lights on your 5er. Are you aware that you should have a Light Check function on your dash? Once activated it goes through all of your lights including your reverse lights and high beams. It runs through several cycles for a few minutes, allowing you enough time to do a quick cycle check and observe all your light functions. Keep up the great content, we enjoy your adventures as well as your personalities. You are our kind of people. Hopefully we will bump into one another on the road some day.
@RVUntethered3 күн бұрын
I did not know we had a light check function lol. We had one on our Ford though. To be honest I haven’t really went through much of the technical items on the truck yet. You two be click baiting me😂. You two do some nice videos. The first videos i watched was the Oklahoma videos where you went to Lawton OK near Fort Sill. I went to basic training there like 25 years ago. I think you could afford those houses you full time RV, don’t take this the wrong I think anyone who full time RV is rich. I once said if I won the mega millions or powerball even if I won $100 million I don’t even know if I could afford to RV full time. Either all the full timers videos I watch are rich or they have figured the system out. I admit my RV of choice would be a Newmar Dutchstar, Mountain Aire, London Aire, King Aire or Essex. I’m of Class A or Class C kind of person. I would need everything connected and maybe stacker trailer. I have to give it to the fifth wheel community that’s a lot of responsibility going down the road. You got two vehicles of extreme responsibility. A six figure pick up and a six figure RV. You have to monitor both the whole trip. Don’t take this the wrong way i watch the videos because your wife is pretty and she has character. It’s like watching a sitcom that changes location every episode.
