What sort of a game is Bad Company? You talked about 'this kind of game' but I never worked out what kind it was! Also wow that video went at breakneck pace... I feel slightly dizzy 🙃. Great to see more Keep or Cull, I'm looking forward to a ruthless year of game banishment 😊

Always enjoy your KorC videos! It's fun to see how many Keeps Sunniva is going to let Johannes get by with. And I'm definitely on Team Johannes when it comes to keeping Acquire! It is fun and a good game of trying to decide when to transition from early game turnover to generate income to late game maximizing holdings in the safe chains. On top of that I have great memories of late nights playing Acquire during college in the mid-70's. I still have my AH Bookshelf game version and it will never be culled.

Yay! Keep or Cull 2023 is off to an awesome start!!! Now I have two more games on my wish list. Can I just say, you two are way too hard on yourselves when it comes to your English. I know you’re just being playful, but you’re both fluent English speakers. I barely notice when you make mistakes. And when you do, they’re not that different from mistakes native English speakers make. I only wish I could speak a second language… Happy new year!

Yay, more keep or cull :) Just recently decided to add Kingdomino Origins to my collection after the normal one sat at the end of my wishlist for several years. Pretty fun game for sure and most-likely a long keep. As I culled Wingspan last year I did not check the new expansion out, but so many people own the game, so I guess I can try it out if I feel like it. Well, now I want to play Acquire :D

Hoping you both get the time to sit down and go through the rest of the cases in Bureau of Investigation.. They are unique and different than the "classic" Sherlock Holmes and the designer has tried some new angles in this type of game. im cheering if they do more of it :)

Zee from the Dice Tower is the reason everyone got hyped about Bad Company. I was also clambering to find a copy for a while as I love similar games like Space Base. But then Tom V gave it a 7 I think, and more people have played it and were more lukewarm about it so I think it’s probably a bit overhyped. I would still like to try it though.

I bought it based on DT's hype and it fell flat for me. Too much randomness, and I am not talking about the dice rolls. The random upgrades and loot cards are what killed it for me.

I think that if you like games like Machi Koro, you might like it a lot. For me, it’s better, but still not fantastic! Too many other games to choose from!

I feel exactly the same about Kingdomino Origins! I liked Kingdomino and bought Queendomino, looking for a bit more depth. Sadly, Queendomino just felt messy, and it made a gateway-style game needlessly tricky to explain to new gamers,so I just ended up culling Queendomino and went back to Kingdomino. Then last year Origins came out and that was finally the game I'd been hoping for. I've culled regular Kingdomino now, and am very happy to keep Kingdomino Origins in my collection for a long time. PS. What country are you guys from?

Nooo not Llamaland! I just played it the first time 2 days ago, I enjoyed it though the process of picking a tile does feel underwhelming compared to Barenpark for sure. Also the bear statues beat out the race for resources to get Llamas. Though the goals have the possibility of being more interesting I think. I love Phil Walker Harding however so I have no issue of keeping both for now.

I think it’s a great game, but we need to cull something 😅 I have a hard time culling games I do like, but even with new shelves, games are flowing onto the floor in different rooms 😂

Kingdomino Origins definitely replaced Kingdomino for me. Very much agree that it's what Queendomino should have been. Queendomino overcomplicated it without adding fun, while Kingdomino Origins had a very smart way of adding layers. I love the volcano mechanisms that came with the base set. It made things more interesting than the caves in the original. And I had fun adding in the other modules and felt they worked well. I enjoy Bad Company, but I would say my favourite game in that style is still Valeria: Card Kingdoms

I've been out of the boardgame scene for a little bit, so I didn't know about the Tidal Blades game. One of the only genres of game I play lately are trick taking/ladder climbing games, since my extended family really likes card games. I will check this one out, but one of the few games I've bought recently but haven't played yet was Brian Boru. It also uses trick taking to accomplish some other goal. Have you guys looked into that one at all?

I love Cock Roach Poker and really like LlamaLand and my kids like it, (haven't played BarenPark). I have been curious about Bad Company since I really like SpaceBase. Mostly I would like to try KingDomino Origins.
