As always, I love your demos. So detailed and useful. My brushes that have twins in the kakishibu set have very similar profiles and thickness etc. So they’ve done quite well in marrying the hair combinations to create brushes that look similar to their counterparts in the previous series. My brushes do have some decent gaps at the ferrules, but because the brushes aren’t any thinner or smaller than those in the kakishibu set I presume it is a deliberate design necessity to make sure the brush heads don’t bloom out and make it bigger than intended. So it’s interesting to see that your four brushes are a bit more pointed and finer at the tips compared with their similar kakishibu brushes. But my goodness, there have been a lot of fude releases, and our bank cards need the chance to cool off!😅

I also think, now that you said it, i actually have a way of pinching the brush heads after I have washed them - where in I try to pinch them into a point while they are wet. I always do this with all of my brushes (face and eyes) and maybe that’s why they look pointy. These brushes have just dried when I started vlogging too. But eventually they always bloom out. And yes, my credit card needs to cool off from all the fude releases hahahahahahah if my card was a car, the wheels would have been smoking already. Hahahaha

Oh Tor - thank you for this perfectly timed video. I hope after watching it I will be able to decide on the most fitting ( for me ) brushes to compliment and complete my Sunset Cranes Maki-e set by Sonia. THANK YOU and have a most wonderful weekend. P.S. Have now watched the video - you created a beyond gorgeous look. From the way you used the brushes and your expressions I assume you like TS1 and TS3 best + maybe TS4. Out of the 2 new traditions sets ( Kakishibu and Select 2024 ) which brushes woul you recommend to best compliment/complete Sonia's Sunset Cranes Maki-e set? I have hooded, mature eyes, use manly powder products and usually go for a softer approach to my make up. ( but wear fairly strong nearsighted glasses ). I appreciate your insights. Watching you getting to know a brush is very enjoyable and educationable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

I would choose the Traditions Select to complete the Sunset Cranes set - mainly because they are all squirrel haired makeup brushes. I actually like the entire set of the Traditions Select - as they are a version of some of the brushes from the Kakishibu set , just with different fibers. If you want you can add the T4 and the T5 of the Kakishibu series as these are blending/buffing brushes. When I am working with hooded eye, I automoatically apply a smokey eye technique (intensity varies ) because this really helps to create shape and depth especially when I am concentrating applying color of the outer area of the eyes - so you really need brushes to help you build and blend color. the smaller brushes on this collection really does help as well in adding intensity in the places you need it.

@@tortorreTor, thank you soo much for this comprehensive and helpful answer. I am getting the select set using your link and will check if I can afford to add the T4 and T5 at this time or a later date. It is a joy to watch you getting to know new brushes and applying make up. Cheri Voyage and you are the artists I am able to learn the most from. You have a way of explaining techniques that is very relatable and on point. I know I will be able to achieve my goal of a very curated Fude collection that suits me to a T. Have a great week - much love to you and your loved ones ( with 2 and 4 legs ).

Thank you for a wonderful review, comparison, and demo. 😊 For crease work..,would you recommend the T3 or the TS3? Why? Thanks!!
@tortorre
@tortorre 2 ай бұрын
I actually love them both. But I usually use TS3 (or squirrel brushes in general) for mattes eyeshadows or for blending colors into the edge of an eyeshadow. I use the T3 for hard pressed shadows, shimmers or cream products. The brush you choose will really depend on how utilitarian it will be and It really depends on your application techniques.
