Love this. It's a shame your bro doesn't want to be filmed, but everyone is different and we have to respect this. How lovely that you both have different skills and can help one another. Even though like you say he gave up time in the garden to help you, it's important to spend time together also. I bet you don't get to spend as much time together as brothers that you would like. Hi Dom. that’s a mighty fine job your doing there. The parts might seem small your putting in but your fixing the panel and keeping all the original spot weld joints will give you a very fine result. As we always tried to do it so it looks original when finished. Glad you got your spot welder going as there a great machine. Great work keep going. Bob.

hi dom when you start getting into the fiddly welding like pinholes get a piece of flat copper about 5mm thich and hold it behind the pin hole so when you weld it will not blow holes and the weld will puddle over the hole it will also disapate some of the heat from the weld area so less chance of warpage a piece of copper rod works great too for getting into tight places glad to see a smile on ya dial when working on the porsche cheers from down under

One day you will have to learn Ohms law Dom... The breaker tripped because the spot welder wanted more current, a long lead adds resistance and therefore reduces the voltage/current available at the end of the line it does not typically cause the circuit to take more current :-) It now works because you moved it from the 16A to the 32A circuit.

I reckon the difference between your test pieces and the actual car parts is the cleanliness of the metal. A quick rub with a scuff disk might make all the difference to the resistance of the metal. 👍

The best flapdiscs ive tried is 3m cubritron. cost same as würth but lasted alot longer, and if u pushed to hard on it and burnt the sandpaper on it u just hold it with a soft touch on the metal and it worn away the bad area. U can grind down the outer diameter of the disc on a benchgrinder, hold the disc with the none sanding side towards the benchgrinder with the anglegrinder on and grind away it dust like crazy but u get a new crisp edge on your disc 👍
