If you have the zipline gun equipped, then grab a log and run into the water, you'll drop the log but you'll swim while being able to use the zipline gun. Very useful when you're building around the beach or large lakes.

9:03 you can hold right click for building mode. doesn't exactly work how you would want but it will prevent you from swinging

Maybe they could add a sort of terraforming feature that could allow you to move soil from one place to another with the shovel. It would allow to build structures on uneven terrain or to make trenches, moats etc. while giving the shovel another use besides digging up bunkers and coins. on the other hand it would be hella slow with current digging capacity of the shovel and probably difficult to implement into the game.

won't happen because endnight is not capable of doing so. they use Houdini for the map creation and all the other work was and is outsourced to external studios. endnight is a puny joke when it comes to developing.

Farket, mate, you would be the first to know these things given your connection with Endnight. I have been hearing rumors that we might be getting a pickaxe...? It would demolish those big rocks into smaller ones, either into rocks or stones. Stones would make more sense since they're harder to find. It would eliminate cannies from jumping on them, and you could clear them for reasons you've said in this video. Figured I'd share. It's just a rumor, though, but I've heard it quite a lot on other forums and channels. I'd love to see it. We can already dig with the shovel, which doesn't have a ton of usage, so a pickaxe in this respect would make sense.

@@eddikit just be aware that this game is shamefully optimized and be lucky that it runs stable and smooth on a high end computer and that the developers have lied massively about the state of the game and are now covering this up by secretly removing all unwelcome comments on the steam discussion board and banning the biggest critics. that was not the case with the first one

I've tested the "indoor" facet. The actual perk for resting indoors. It does not work when the ceiling is more than 2 logs high. 1.5 logs seems to be ideal, but if you add a vaulted roof it goes back to "outdoor" conditions. you'll also see it rain INSIDE these conditions. It looks like virga, in reverse, inside your castle. The warmth from fires is also very limited. They need to expand that reach.

Well you use the half logs for the balcony banister. So people don't fall off. Also patio rail.

I made a decent defense wall. Make it out of stone, make the bottom row then 1 high column on either side then fill in with rocks. Put reinforced spikes on the bottom, put electric fence against stone wall (sometimes you can put the fence on top the bottom of the spikes or you might have to move them out a bit) then put reinforced spikes on top of the stone "wall." That'll take care of almost everything but the slinky who can get through just about any defense including super high walls 3 thick.....

Amazing video as always, btw I believe with the rope gun even if you reach the max length if you can aim it you can shoot further, so you could be standing at your max distance but you could shoot further untill you cant see the white dot

Your best bet for building on an incline is to start from top to bottom. Close to impossible building up a cliff. Start at the top!

However, this means the data structure can't account for things which can be moved or placed during runtime, for example, if a tree is chopped down, you could see behind where it stood, but while it stands, you can't, so you couldn't bake trees into the occlusion culling map or you would get visual artifacts at runtime. For trees this is not as much an issue because they rarely fully occlude an object anyway. For player built structures though, you are stuck with the back wall and each floor of the castle being rendered even if two thirds of it is comprised of objects which are completely obscured. This could be tested if the game has a wireframe display mode, you should see things like static structures or cave models disappear in wireframe mode when they are behind terrain or a static structure, but not when they are behind a player built structure, and vice versa if the game has baked occlusion culling.

I use tree platforms. Dead 3 log trees and tall 7 log trees. If you remove the rope they don't climb up.

Yo can anyone explain why were still not able to place and build with half and quarter logs (or singular stones) horizontally? It makes sense, doesnt it?
