Loved this kit, I have kitbashed with Cultist 1 and other Frostgrave and Oathmark minis. I have even used parts from the Demons box with the cultist minis from this ,it and the male kit. Incidentally most Wargames Atlantic heads and Victrix heads can be used with Frostgrave minis. Great review. My favourite kits for kitbashingvare the Frostgrave Wizards 1 and 2 kits.

Yeah I think Victrix Dark Age stuff would fit right in with these Frostgrave sets, both scale and design-wise. They all seem extremely versatile, and I found myself tacking a bunch of cult bits on a bunch of unrelated historical models after I made this video.

My heart sank with no Charlie Day smash cut when you mentioned ghouls ;)

It’s a great kit! I designed a game with just this box for the “One Box Challenge” hosted by WGA this summer. I will say, if you stick to JUST this box, it leans real heavy into the undead/feral aesthetic. I was at first loving the colorful bits, but I soon realized you can’t do anything that isn’t a bog witch or ghoul. STELLAR box (one of my faves), but weird/quirky bits that might not stand alone for 20 figs. Combine with Cultist I or Wizard II (or anything really), and it’s priceless. I ended up with four of these boxes!

Good point, most of my ideas for the set stem from combining with other bits and bodies. As with a lot of Frostgrave and Oathmark stuff I think they’re at their best when combined with other Frostgrave and Oathmark stuff, since all of the bits are so interchangeable.

Love the slow walk-through shot. Wish more reviewers did that. I would agree with you too that this sprue is better than the Cultist I sprue, for the reasons you gave. Until you said they were female, I thought they were male poses; so yes, the bodies can be either male or female poses, which again is a selling point. Not a fan of zombie arms, but I get the reasons why. Contents of this box are so good, your review has convinced me to get a box. Thanks for reviewing them.

Thanks for the comment! They’ve shifted away from explicitly referring to their “II” sets as “females”, as they did in the descriptions of the Soldiers II set, for instance. I think this is a smart direction, since the bodies can easily be kitbashed with head options from other sets to just make alternate male poses, as well. Glad to have convinced you, it’s a great and versatile kit.

Mix them with the female Stargrave scavenger set to create a very varied force of Post Apocalyptic types. Nick from Northstar said he wanted all of his kits to be able mix and match and many of them do to create unique and very varied looking forces . Mix in with the female Barbarian set and Magic user set to create even more variety

Makes perfect sense, and has been my experience with all Oathmark and Frostgrave sets so far. I think I’ll start getting silly with my kitbashing attempts at the end to see just how far we can push the interchangeability of these boxes.

Great set. Very versatile if you're a beginner GM for tabletop roleplaying games, but also a great addition for those with hundreds of models already.

Somehow I didn’t even consider it’s application in RPG’s! All of these Frostgrave sets would be excellent for that.

I love your enthusiasm for kitbashing every different plastic kit together, and was wondering whether and when you'd get around to some of the Frostgrave ones! Also, are you gonna look at some Mantic minis at some point?
@Dan-ds8sf17 күн бұрын
Kitbashing is probably my favorite hobby-related activity, it gives me the same feeling as a life hack kind of video when I pull off something successful. I hadn’t had Mantic in mind, is there anything in particular you’d like to see?
@FlakManiak15 күн бұрын
@@Dan-ds8sf I should probably ask you to look at something I don't have, like some of the Northern Alliance infantry, or some of their elves, but honestly it might be interesting to hear your thoughts on scale/proportions on the Basilean Men-at-Arms. Just, any Mantic stuff you get that depicts humans/elves/skeletons, pay attention to the proportions and tell me what you think!

Something I like about cultist 2 over cultist 1 is the "zombie arms" because not only can they be zombie arms you can make disease ridden people as well. With the bandage up heads and zombie arms making sickly people. A lot more useful imo than just a skeleton arm.
@Dan-ds8sf12 күн бұрын
Yeah absolutely agree, the skeleton arms were of limited use on non-skeleton bodies imo. These look a lot better and have wider application.

I’m definitely going to pick up the Cultists I set to blend in with these, I think the accessories and arms in this kit are stronger and will elevate the first box a bit.

Extremely versatile! The kind of box that gets better and better the more you combine it with other sets.
