This is so true ! I was once asked “Why are you on antidepressants? You’re always smiling and upbeat !” I asked them “Don’t you think that’s what the antidepressants do to me ?” I live each day in constant pain all over my body despite taking painkillers. There are stronger ones I could take, but they would make me so drowsy that I’d be unable to do most of the things I struggle to do already ! And people really don’t want to hear me saying “Ooh, my back, my leg, my arm !” On repeat, 24 7 !

I have fibromyalgia, so there's like, 2 shoes I can wear without pain, one of which is Crocs, but that doesn't mean I like how they look. I did get some $30 croc ballet flat things to wear as a "dressier" shoe to church and stuff, but I do acknowledge that Crocs don't look the best. However, regular Crocs for a normal price of $50 or less is SO much better than these overpriced monstrosities. Also, pet Tank for me! I love the snoring

I got a pair of white crocs on one of those discount direct from China sites for about 8 bucks. I spent an additional 5 bucks to get a set of jewels specifically made to decorate Crocs. They look really terrific with all of these Gold and Pearl doodads on them. If there ever were a dressy croc, this is it. I have a fused ankle, so I know your dilemma with shoes very well.

I got a pair of crocs for Christmas a year ago but the reason I got them is because I asked for house slippers that wouldn't collect pet hair. They are PERFECT for that. I don't wear them out of the house unless I can't find my other shoes or forget. They are a comfortable and easy to slip on, and most importantly, if I step in something a cat has left around as a surprise I can take them outside and hose them down no problem. I... can't imagine trying to wear them for fashion...

The Comme des Garcons brings to mind a Medieval tapestry of a slave or servant serving the king food. The king was wearing boots almost exactly like this style, they were shorter. In the background the jester was a red, exaggerated version of these shoes.
@DawnDavidson Жыл бұрын
Yes! Exactly my thoughts. The Comme de Garçons shoes are recreations of the silly medieval fashions. The Mexican ones are equally silly, because in both cases, the curved toes are taking the pointy toes to an extreme. The pointy toes originally had a purpose, which was to make them easy to put through stirrups. By extending them to be so long you have to curl them up - in Medieval times they would literally tie the points up to their knees with cord - you completely undo the entire purpose of the pointy toes! Rich people fashion indeed.
@erikagehm2805 Жыл бұрын
@DawnDavidson some of it was to say I have enough money and power to buy useless stuff; and the other was because I believe that they found it beautiful, silly, or both; and they ran with it.

30:33 The Djinn from Alladin these were shoes for him. That's who they made them for. Then they realised he doesn't have feet, and they messed up, so they're trying to sell them off to someone else. You should do a "who would wear this" matching up these to characters. Could be fun : ) Like biker shoes - on one hand they might work for Chell from Portal or Star Wars Paratroopers in one of the pre-sequels that pop up here and there now, but that black patch at the front, no lie, looked like a mouth with teeth at first glance. So frankenstein shoe is a good diagnosis, I call it as "futuristic Morticia Addams shoe". : )

Okay, I live in Alaska, where Extra Tuff rubber boots can pass as acceptable weekend fashion, but I love Crocs, especially the Malindi and Kaydee ballet flats. They’re made of a squishier crosolite than the regular classic duckbill Crocs, and cushion the foot; they’re cute, come in every color/pattern, and can be hosed off when they get muddy. A win-win for Alaskan girls. By the way, don’t know why you can’t warm up to a pair of red rubber boots that look like a cross between something worn by Popeye’s girlfriend, Olive Oyl, and a toilet plunger. So picky.😎

One more-the curly cue shoes: watch Chinese historical dramas. I believe it was the Tang Dynasty they first came into fashion (for men), and have gone in and out over the years. Even today, because historical dramas have become so popular; young people are going out in public in Hanfu, (historic outfits) and I’ve seen a few with these shoes. When my Son went to Harbin (North China near the border with Russia), it was winter and there is the Ice Village, snow resorts and other winter recreation places-one of which he got snowed in for a few days. I had just watched a Chinese movie-based on the Mythology in Journey to the West-the Monkey King was wearing those shoes-I told my son they looked like they would make great snow shoes 🤷🏼♀️

I have a good story about Golden Goose sneakers. I am an Ebay reseller and I found a pair of Golden Goose sneakers at a thrift store for like $8. I knew nothing about the brand but saw that they sell for good money so I bought them. Being a good reseller, I took them home and cleaned them up with my sneaker cleaner and magic eraser. I got them so nice and sparkly - they looked brand new. Then when I listed them, Ebay flagged them as counterfeit because 'they are too clean to be real Golden Goose sneakers'. Oh, well, live and learn.
