OMG I laughed my butt off listening to the story about quilting you gorg table topper. Haven’t been around for awhile and right off the bat realized how much I missed being with you. When I first started watching you I learned soooooo much and here you are back to teaching us about the one block wonder and all variations thereof. Just love it, thank you so much. You are a doll. I was so happy to see you today! The beautiful piece you did for a future "scrub board" really made me happy. I remember my mother hanging laundry out on the line to dry. The North Dakota sunshine and wind made the cotton sheets and cotton towels smell so good. You just can't recreate that fresh smell in the dryer. You and your grandson will have so much fun making the pillowcase together. You are creating good memories that he will cherish and you will too. Have a wonderful week and thanks again for just being you.

Anna- Thanks for the two videos, and the new, easy quilt block! Your clothesline quilt is so cute! Hope you can find the perfect scrub board! Your grandson is adorable, and his pillow case turned out great! I taught my eldest grandson to quilt at six yrs. old. He loved the machine! He made a quilt for his new baby bro., then made a quilt for himself! When waiting for his first baby, he sewed the layette! He owns an auto repair place now. He has always LOVED machines of any sort! : ) Brenda King

Here’s a thought… when I only need a bit of fabric, I go to the thrift store and look for a piece of clothing that is made of a linen, wool or other nice woven. Take it home and wash and dry it and then snip snip

Good morning friend!! The genius that is Quilt Roadies needs to be on a t-shirt. Congrats on the 30K subscribers. However, I'm not surprised. You are a doll and I simply adore everything you do. I have already planned 2 or 3 of those one-block wonder quilts especially the ones that I can fussy cut the 4.5" center. Freaking AWESOME!! Boy, can I relate to losing stuff in the sewing room. I spent 2 hours last week trying to find a piece of yardage that I just bought that morning!!! I tore this place apart only to discover it was still in the bag in my car. Insert smacking my forehead here. Some times . . . Well, I'm off to finish another tasks for my guild's upcoming quilt show. My list is long, but these are the kind of tasks you love, and do with fun anticipation of the event. Super excited. Wish you lived closer and could come by! Love you friend!!! Hugs from NE Ohio.

Herein Queensland, we’ve pretty well missed winter. It’s still very warm, heading to hot, hot, hot. Today our high was 28C,low was a cool 20c. As I said, we’re almost into summer, missing spring altogether! I agree with your comments regarding music. I play piano by ear. My piano is a upright, still able to punch out a tune. Anna, I can’t tell you how much this tutorial has meant to me! I finally have the inspiration to dig into my lovely fabrics and actually cut them up for a quilt! Your tutorial touched my soul and made me feel as though this was definitely a quilt I could tackle! It has inspired so many ideas for gifts and grandchild quilts! I must admit I’m a fabric addict…and that includes cross stitch as well! 😊. I just can’t wait to put your suggestions to work….and I also thought about a 4 1/2 center square 😂 I laughed when you suggested that! Thank you so much!!❤❤❤🦩🦩🦩

This is hilarious- it is good to know others misplace stuff in their sewing room. We are so sure we are putting stuff away in a place that makes sense, until we can't find it. My sewing room is very organized and I can't find a pattern I bought for my granddaughter🤣. You are such a good friend and grandma.

Quilt intro is a beautiful and happy quilt. Here in my area we had a week of Fallish weather which boomeranged back to hot, dry humid days.! In my next life I won’t be coming back but settled in heaven knowing how to do all the things that I don’t know how to do here. What a wonderful life.😊. If I’m ever blessed enough to win something you can know I’ll claim it pronto 😅. Trees over clotheslines because of birds isn’t friendly to cotton wash. 😂 oh my gosh the Christmas quilt is precious. ❤ so while I was watching/listening to you I cut strips, tomorrow hopefully I’ll get the strips cut into 4.5 pieces, it is late Labor Day evening and I’m too tired to trust myself to cut anything else properly. Lol Thanks for a wonderful visit, love as always. 💕

So glad I am not the only one that loses things in her sewing room. Today it was my sewing glasses. I had to go to my small quilt group without them. I was sewing on a binding. That didn't go well. Came home and took things apart, still not where I thought they'd be. Where were they? On the ironing board. Sure, that makes sense, right? Well, I had been cutting some small pieces to add to some small blocks I was working on during a zoom quilt get together with buddies from all over, and I was using them for sewing, and obviously took them over to the ironing board and took them off to do the cutting. All's well that ends well, right?

So many thoughts after listening this morning. If musically inclined are better at EPP then G should try EPP - he would be amazing. The idea of a game show or survivor series in my sewing room is both hysterical and terrifying at the same time…it would be a mixture of Squid Games, Wipe Out, The Floor is Lava and I Shouldn’t Be Alive. I just don’t know where the camera crew would be able to stand😂. Once again thanks for sharing so many smiles and inspirational thoughts. Love the quick quilt from 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 pieces.

Fun video! Your table topper is so cute. Sometimes I find it easier to just go buy something I can’t find, than spend hours hunting for it. My grandson has asked for a mountain quilt for quite a while. I found fabric etc, cut the pieces and have a very small start. Yesterday we had lunch, “how’s my quilt coming?”. Gulp. I’d better get busy! Need to put down stitching for a while!

Anna, I laughed and laughed at you sewing the pattern to your piece!! Lol One day, I decided to make my family homemade pizza for dinner. I always make my own dough for pizza. That day I wanted to try a different recipe I had cut out of a cooking magazine. So I stirred and let the dough rise. Then as I was kneading it a second time, it started to turn gray and then had black splotches in it. I was so confused, but I was not going to feed gray/black dough to my family. So I threw away that dough and pulled out a baggie of previously made dough and proceeded with the thawing process. As the dough was thawing, I decided to check the recipe for some of the measurements and for the life of me, I could not find the recipe anywhere. Well, of course, somehow in my expert kneading, the recipe had gotten mixed up in the dough and that was why the dough turned grayish/blackish!!!! So frustrated with myself!!

Glad you found the pattern. I am currently looking for a template. “Circle Magic”. I found the book that came with the template but I have gone thru every drawer shelf and container twice still haven’t found it. It was the original Brandy one. Missouri star has one of their own and they were 50% off so I ordered yesterday. I imagine I will find the original shortly after it comes. While shopping there I did find some cotton fabric that just had to travel with the template. I am using the template to use denim to make my greatgrand dog (100# plus Great Dane ) a quilt. It’s funny, Anna, but I don’t quilt, but I love to watch your channel. You mentioned you don’t do paper piecing. Did you mean foundation paper piecing it? The reason I ask is there is foundation paper piecing, and there is English paper piecing where you use different shapes and put your fabric around them and then when they’re basted, you remove the papers. I do both, but I prefer the English paper piecing because it’s portable. I can do it anywhere. I also do Crosstitch, Punch needle and crochet. But in my next life, I want to be a quilter. Also, with the English paper piecing, you do a quilt as you go, where after the hexagon is made you put a piece of batting the same size as the hexagon, and then a bigger hexagon for the backing. Then you turn the backing onto the front and it self binds. I also want to tell you that when I get up in the morning, which is usually 5:30 AM, I watch any KZbin videos that I subscribe to that are creative. That gets my creative juices flowing for the day. Although I do so many different projects in one day, there are some days when I just don’t feel motivated but if I watch a creative KZbin first thing in the morning, I am good to go all day. I am going to try the one block wonder.

Congratulations, Anna! An awesome accomplishment! Love your videos. Love the northwest. And I agree with you. In my next life, I'd like to play bass guitar, sing like Celine Dion, and practice law like Perry Mason! :) I think I will try this block from all the scraps I've kept.
