Hi Manuel, you are a braver man than I! That band switch looks a deal braker if the wafers cracked, one the contacts broke, or worse. The BFO was surprisingly easy to align though. Keep up the good work.

Alignments are always my favorite thing to do. I’m not very experienced at it yet but I’m getting better and better all the time. I wish I had the equipment to do fm stereo. Although I still haven’t perfected regular fm yet.

This is quite the radio! I am thoroughly impressed. Even though the capacitors tested good, I would want all electrolytics and any paper/wax style capacitors replaced with new ones...there is the issue though of getting to some of them and I would imagine that if I were doing the work...I would probably do exactly what you did!

Usually deoxit. Xraytonyb has a great video showing how to really do the job correctly. I often don’t remove them.
