To me the 5-pack exclusive '57 GMC Stepside was the star of the pack, I collect all variations of that casting. Glad to have found the latest 2 x 2022 5-pack variations on the pegs, the other variation being the white "Truck Hero" variation.

Interestingly, the last time we saw the blue Firebird was on a single card release back in 2010. That's before both of our time, I don't mean we weren't born then, I mean we weren't collecting yet. LOL!

I got it, this morning at Walmart, the off-road olds 442. I bought two, 1 to keep carded. Also grabbed the green Land Cruiser. Picked up a couple awesome new premium Batman cars real/riders too. The BATMOBILE (muscle car), and TV series BATMOBILE. 👍

Nice haul, mainline releases from MBX are very good this year, as they are with HW, although there are too many recolors of hyped up castings, especially from HW. Agreed with you on the overuse of the mud effects too. If you'd like to see a full detailed premium version of the Studebaker pickup, there was a premium release last year in Valvoline livery that I have & it does look really good. So far 2022 has been a great new casting release year, hard to stay away from those mainlines, just happy I'm pretty much up to date now on HW A to D case & the first 2mixes of MBX. Nice ones indeed man! I'm working on my Land Rover gaps too as we soeak. The recent wave of casting releases have really been awesome all around with very little nonsense pieces....or maybe I'm not paying attention to that stuff! :)

Seems there's always lots of nonsense in the HW world. I was in a walmart last week and it had completely full pegs, at first I was excited as figured it must have just been stocked but it was just absolutely jam packed with nothing but fantasy cars. Not a single licensed model on the pegs. :-(

very nice cars I found the Studebaker and the ford Goodyear truck I totally agree with the Tacoma the roof looks too low it just doesn't look right talking about Tacoma's did you happen to get the matchbox one with the bed tent that came out this year 🙂

I don't think I have the Matchbox Tacoma. People seem to be going nuts for this Hot Wheels version, definitely don't get that.

I believe the main reason the Tacoma is being hoarded is that it’s “new for 2022”. That said, I’ve seen and left it on the pegs, tho they are sparse due to hoarders.

I stopped buying mainlines almost 2 years ago. They are just a waste of money honestly even if they are $1. I would rather buy the premium model cars.

If you watch my videos then you know I can and do buy all the premium diecast I want but the lowly mainline is its own kind of thing that for me is purely about fun and appreciation of the unique art that they represent. What they lose in accuracy and detail they make up for in charm and that's a quality that is unique to all the brands that come from the toy side of the equation. It's truly part about the car and part about simply being a Hot Wheels or a Matchbox or a Majorette and is a fundamentally different thing than what you get with brands that focus on accurate models. As I've collected more and more premium brands I've certainly asked myself if I should give up on the toy based brands and concluded that for my interests too much would be lost in that. I find it an interesting dichotomy that exists in the diecast world.
