I find it curious that that white Siku BMW 750i, I have it but "Made in Poland" 🇵🇱, it is rare at this point that there are diecasts that are not from Asia (mainly China and several South Asian countries), another example is the "Guisval" which is the only one that continues to be made in Spain, I think they are the only ones that continue in Europe By the way, they don't reach my country Chile either, but there is a store in my city that carries Siku separately and on its own because they have trucks, cranes, machinery and tractors, they are of very good quality but cheap, because they sold a Siku crane in the US Approximately $170 dollars, and those cars cost about US$11 dollars regards,greetings from Chile , South America

Nice to see these gifts opened from Chris, overall they look pretty good but I will not be going down the Siku or Majorette Route unless there is a particular casting I am after, that being said, still very nice gifts👌...all the best, Phil👍

siku does something interesting..makes the emergency cars of every country they have a reseller. they have the German emergency every where.. but in Poland they make the same emergency cars of the Poland or Italy or Greece or Spain. is a funny small detail from some one who wants to have a police car from several countries except the classic ones.

Very interesting. This German brand is very nice. They started producing toy cars in the early sixties. At the time they also had a fantastic collection of highly detailed plastic aircraft models, all a the same scale. You could also buy the related airport buildings and accessories.

Here in Germany a normal Siku Car is 4.99€, the quality is not the best as it was some years ago. As an example, the Dodge Charger has inserted Front and Taillights, around 2019 they changed it. They are to expensive for the quality. For 2021 they only released one new Car Casting, normal is 4-5 new ones each year. Think the best years are gone and maybe Siku will not exist anymore in some years. They make some Cars in scale 1:50, for Toys much to expensive and for (old) Collectors to big and its a niche scale.
@seanc5226

@@marcbaur677 You are spot on Marc,I noticed that about the headlamps, it's a real pity because they have some great cars. I think other brands have passed them in variation as well as quality. In saying that I will still probably buy them🇮🇪👍
@marcbaur677
@marcbaur677 2 жыл бұрын
@@seanc5226 the Problem is, they spend Millions Euro for new stuff and failed, like the 1/43 Siku Control Racing Serie or the Toddys for Toddlers.Some Shops sell them with a huge discount. Since years the Collector Szene says that Siku should return to the 1/55 scale for all Cars and Trucks, that they do more normal Cars and not only Hyper Sport Cars or luxury SUV's and Cars or they should do a Classic Serie again, but the only answer is: "We are making Toys and not Collectibles.". So, many are collecting now Majorette, they are cheaper, mostly better Qualität, having a wider range of Cars including Classics and much more color variations. If Siku do nothing, they will loose.

These companies give some nice options on cars not made by hotwheels or matchbox if you can live with nature of the castings they are nice. I like a range of companies to get so.e of my own collection together.

The best years for Siku was 1964 - 2000. 1964 - 1974 the scale for all vehicles are 1/60, They changed it 1974 to scale 1/55 for new Castings till around 2000, than the scale was various, they have to fit in the Blister. Around 1978 - 1984 some Modells looks a way off (cant describe If, they looks a bit strange) . Best Modell ever was the Mercedes 600 Pullman, Hood, Trunk and all 4 doors to open.

Long gone are the days of die cast with a metal base and a nice suspension. I was a collector of Matchbox and Hotwheels, but the cheap plastic bases have pretty much ruined the hobby for me.

@Gram72534 2 жыл бұрын
those seem really cool. im in Colorado so I had never seen or heard of them. I really like the packaging idea's and how they put the spec's on the bases as well. I don't collect diecast motorcycles either, but if I did this brand might be the one to do that with.?.? I wonder the price point as it compares to other brands and the colored corners, I wonder what they mean as well? the fire truck seemed to have the size of the casting on the corner , I think anway.?.?great video, thanks.

I tried to look into what the colors mean and it's really not clear. Most of the ones I have are grey. I thought maybe it was grey for licensed models and blue for unlicensed toys but then one of the Porsches has a blue corner so guess I just have no idea. Cars are actually a very small portion of what they sell. Seems most of their business comes from their other lines like Farm Equipment, Fire Engines, Buses, Ships and Planes. If you watch European peg hunting videos from Diecast Dude some stores he goes to have entire aisles of Siku product.
@titiparisien5915
@titiparisien5915 2 жыл бұрын
The colored corners are there to indicate the price category of each of the models. The European retailers who sell Siku toys display a grid with all the colors and their related prices in Euros. Siku is not cheap compared to Matchbox or Hot wheels here in Europe. But they are well made and usually display quality tampos, colors, rubber tyres and moving parts. An excellent balance between toys and collectibles.
