Let’s paint a Toad with the 48 Coloured Acrylic Paint Pens form Arrtx 🐸

Hello everyone and thank you for joining me for this week’s video. This week I will be trying some more acrylic paint markers form Arrtx. Whereas last time I tried their brush tip pens, these ones are much more like a classic paint marker. They come in a box with a grid at the bottom to keep them organised and also some spare nibs. Overall, I like the colour selection and I think you get a good number of pens in the set.
For the demo I decided to colour a sketch of a Toad I had drawn on a piece of wood, I thought this would be good as These pens can be used on different surfaces. Overall, I enjoyed using them, the colours are nice and strong and I found I could soften and blend them with a paint brush. I did struggle a bit but I think that’s because I need more practise using this type of pen.

Never seen anyone use acrylic paint pens this way before but it looks like a great blending method, also a good way to cover large sections of the illustration without damaging the paper.

beautiful piece, I would never have thought of using a paint brush to help with the blending, when you are blending them on top of each other though, do the nibs get stained with the other colours?

I find chunky markers best. They seem to be in the highest demand.

In order to get smaller lines mixed in, you could always try pumping out some of the acrylic into a dish and picking it up directly with the brush. Obviously still 'not the right way' but I don't really subscribe to there being a 'right way' to do art or use supplies.
