I really have to say I appreciate your videos. No jibbering. No over the top ads. No bantering. Explanation. Good shots to actually see what you do. Great talk. Man. Thank you!

Any ideas how you would do the white armor now? I love the colours you built up for the armor using the Ghost Grey, wash, and mix of Grey and White. It looks fantastic, but it doesn't look like they make Ghost Grey anymore (or I can't find it at least). Would love to get the armour right as white is one of the colours I've struggled with painting in the past.

Hello my friend. This is really unfortunate to see that the ghost grey colour has disappeared as it’s a colour I really love to use. There’s a lot of really good paint companies out there and other alternatives to this colour that you could use as a base tone however. I would look at a few options when it comes to the base colour. Replacing the ghost grey with “the army painter - ghoul grey” is one option. Another option would be to use “ak interactive - silver grey” and build up from there. I think it is worth me looking at making a video with different options of painting white armour so that it gives people more than just one way to do it. Thank you so much for dropping by and watching but also for commenting and letting me know the paints are hard to come by. I will get around to creating an updated version of the video and see if I can offer new ways of achieving the nice white style. I hope this answers your question, take care my friend.

Fantastic! Thanks for the guidance. Recently I painted some Warriors of Chaos to learn to paint black, and it was a real treat. Having painted them I thought I might break out my old Stormcast to be their foil, I got them in the AOS first edition starter and never painted them. I was thinking of making them look like stone, quick and easy, but then I stumbled on your video and thought this scheme looks fantastic. White is an armour colour I've wanted to tackle at some point, so I think they may be a good starting point. When I watched this, I quickly realized that's a technique I can do, and the end result looks really great. I'll probably pick up the army painter - ghoul grey, as I have a couple of their speed paints that I've liked, so I'm interested in trying their traditional paints. A video about painting white armour would be great! Again, thanks for the help! While I have your ear, I might suggest putting the exact paints used in the description in a list. I know that's always something I wish was on a painting video, as it's easier than having to rewind through the video and find them after watching. Not sure if you've tried that before, but it seems like a good addition to me! Great vids. @@Bread0fHeaven

@@lincc9681 it’s great to hear that you spent the time and had the patience to learn how to paint black like that. Black is also a tough colour to paint in some ways. I personally tend to paint shades of grey to add extra depth but it’s all just personal choice. I also thought about creating a cracked, old and worn out stone effect for the storm cast. It seems like a cool and interesting colour scheme for them and would also be a fun way of telling a nice back story too. Thanks for adding the great tip about putting the individual colours into the description. I have done this with a few videos on the channel but found it hard to maintain it as it can be quite time consuming. I’ll look into it and see if I can add them in going forward. This will be a helpful and useful addition for people. Thanks again for dropping by, asking great questions and adding great suggestions too. I really appreciate it.

@@lincc9681 also one more point. You mentioned this is a technique you felt you could do. I really love that comment. This is ideally the overall idea of my channel. I make long videos so that people can see the style right the way through. No shortcuts or doing things off camera. That way people feel like they can follow along and create the same level of painting quite easily. Being able to create videos that help others and fill others with confidence is so rewarding to me. I’m still shocked to have gained such a large number of subscribers considering the niche type of subject matter on the channel. I’m so happy to know that the video has helped you and feel really good that it inspired you to want to paint in a similar way.

You really make great and clear videos! Personally, I've made it a goal of mine to not say no to trying something when it comes to painting. Am I the best painter? No. But I only get better if I try, and repeat. And videos like yours help greatly with inspiring the next project, and helping me know what path I should tread down. I have a lot of friends who are afraid of painting, and really with the right mindset, and videos like yours, everyone would come to enjoy painting and become a better painter. Thanks for making the videos and keep up the good work!@@Bread0fHeaven

Can I ask what colour you used for the primer??
@Bread0fHeaven2 жыл бұрын
Of course. I use a rustoleum grey primer. I personally find the grey is a happy medium. It allows the colours to really stand out and doesn’t dilute the colours like black does but it’s also much more of an average finish than a white primer. This brand covers the miniatures in a nice clean thin layer that really helps the paint to stick to the minis. I hope this helps you out my friend.
